Default How to raise the C7 a couple of inches?

My brother in law likes the c7, but he is 71 and has trouble getting out.
Does it use transverse leaf springs? What do you suggest?
Know a shop in Las Vegas? Can dealer do this?
Thanks!

Raise a couple of inches? If he's really having trouble getting in/out of the vehicle, this probably won't get better over time. Hate to say it, but a Corvette simply may not be a practical vehicle at this point.

He has no trouble getting in/out of my 72 c3.
the seat is 16" off the ground.
What is the height of the c7 seat?
Can anyone tell me that? Just put a broom handle across the seat, and measure to pavement. subtract side bolsters if they get in the way. Thanks!
I do see where guys have installed longer bolts to lower a c7, so shorter bolts and a wheel alignment might do it.

"How to raise the c7 a couple of inches?"

You're kidding, right? I would suggest a F-350 4WD with at least 6" lift.

Try these tire sizes to raise the car about 1/2":

Front, 245/40-19
Rear, 285/35-20

or

Front, 245/45-18
Rear, 285/40-19
.

Maxing out the stock ride height bolts will raise the car by 0.5-1.0", and if he gets the 2/3LT model those have power "easy exit" seats that lift up when you open the door.

My dad (leg problems, replacement hip, etc.) can get in & out of his C6 and my C7. A little more hassle than a standard sedan, but he says it's totally worth it!

Another possibility (assuming they can support the C7 platform) is an AirRex suspension.

I've seen a few of these on cars, and it's essentially fully adjustable air ride suspension. It's neither inexpensive nor difficult to implement, but there are several C6 examples with such a system.

It appears that the C6 and C7 are unlisted, but there are examples out there. This would most likely mean he would need a base (non-MRC) suspension to start out with.

Does anyone know what the stock ground clearance of a C7 is? Does it vary by year, and are grand sports lower than base models?

Does he know how to get in and out of the 1984 and newer Corvettes because the methods are different than with the earlier models? To get in turn back to the car use the hand that is closest to the seat back to find the seat back and then use it to guide you down into the seat without rubbing your butt on the side bolster. Once down, pivot your legs into the car. Exit is the same as getting in except in reverse. Turn legs out of the car, put hand on the side bolster, and lift the butt out of the car by leaning forward and going up. I am 80 going on 81, have a bad left knee that is bone on bone with some pain and have been using this method to enter and exit my Corvettes since I purchased an 86 back in 87. I insist everybody that gets in the car follow that method as it saves wear on the side bolster.

Well for entering or exiting his C7 at home, he could put 4 - 2”x12” (angle cut on the leading edge) boards on the floor to pull up on in the garage/driveway. At least it’s a cheap way to solve half the problem?
