Yea, I don't want a bunch of gauges in the car...like the PLX DM-100 for being small, and touch screen display. Just need to understand how many of those stupid red boxes you have to buy...almost prohibitive. The gauge is high, and then add all these boxes to it, and damn near $1000.

The new pillars came in yesterday. The finish is very nice. I'll post pics when I get my car back and can put them in.

Are you sure these are for a C7 corvette or are they made by C7 carbon and they are for another car?

they were for a 3000GT...

I even entered my car info at checkout and they still sent them anyways.

I have made my own like Randy did it is now at an auto upholstery place getting wrapped in leather. I am trying to get the passenger pillar off right now but don't know exactly how to do that.

Check the suede conversion thread. I gave him my service instructions and tips from installing my gauges and he converted them into usable instructions.

You need to remove the front headliner, etc. before the pillar. It will make sense once you see the pictures.

Thanks for the info I eventually figured it out. I should have my gauge pod back from the upholstery shop, I'll upload some pictures. I'm getting them wrapped in leather. I might as well have the front header wrapped while I am at it.

Did you use fiberglass to work them in like Randy did? That's the only part I suck at... Never been good at laying in any types of fiber.

Interested to see pics when you have it back.

I contoured then to fit really good and them glued them on with epoxy. I actually used JB Weld putty to contour them and then sanded it smooth.

I looked for a suede material but could not find anything that would have looked right. I figured it would look good in leather with stitching so I gave it to the pros to do. BTW, my car will be on the cover of the new issue (I believe) of Corvette Magazine!
