Default ECS 2200SL kit....

Outstanding. That is all I have to say.

Picked up my 2200SL kit yesterday from ECS. Chris, Alex and the rest of the crew at the shop took the time to answer all of my questions regarding the kit, installation tips and are going to be helping to arrange a tow of my vehicle from a trusted towing agency once I have completed the installation for tuning.

I went with the 2200SL polished blower, with black piping/brackets and an alky control system. I am looking for 700hp on meth with a completely stock exhaust system first, Later this summer, full exhaust, heads, cam and fueling. 900+ on the horizon.

Unboxing this kit I was nothing short of a kid on Christmas. Everything is packaged beautifully so no parts are damaged. A folder is included with the parts included and is quality checked to be sure everything is accounted for. All stock parts that need to be modified are included in the kit, so OEM parts can be retained.

Two thumbs up.

Crazy fun is about to happen. At first one word seemed appropriate "congratulations"!
But given a little more thought, I say "God Speed"!

Here's some updates on the install! Everything went very smoothly. I chose to mount all of the methanol electronics in the trunk and mounted the led in the center of the trunk plastic under the hatch lock to see through the rear view mirror. Not really a big fan of having aftermarket electronics in sight!

While I was at it I decided to install my z06 grill, splitter and fender flares. Love the oem fit!

Ordered them from cultrag performace. They fit nicely but do require slight modification to fit properly on the normal C7 fenders. The grille and splitter fit like stock.

Not much at all really, toward the front bumper side I had to trim off one plastic tab that slips behind the fender and on the rear side I had to cut off one mounting tab. I also had to trim the rock guard on the fenders just slightly to make it fit. You will see it when you start the project, very easy. I just trimmed everything with a razor blade.

Those fender flares are OEM? Do you happen to know the part number?

How was the s/c install? Did you have a lift?

I'll say this - anybody that can do both the S/C kit and Alky install (harder than the S/C kit, in my opinion) - not to mention the cosmetic upgrades - in one day has my complete respect.

This is what happens when I stay up too late.

I'll still give it to him - that Alky system isn't fun at all. I had to get Ron to do mine.

Thanks everyone! I worked on this about 6 hours each day on the weekend and after work yesterday. I would say I have about 15 hours in it all together. Knowing what I know now, I would say I could complete the entire thing now in 10 hours (meth and supercharger). I chose to take the bumper off to install the aero, and I think it is a worthwhile choice for anyone installing the kit (although not necessary to complete!). I will dig up all of the part numbers for the aero kit and post them this afternoon.

10 hours this time around huh? You live around Texas?

Looking forward to the part number for the flares. Nice work!

When's it going on the dyno? Are you going to tune it yourself as well?

sorry for the delay in updates, I was able to have Doug from ECS tune the car last week and the numbers are as follows:

2200sl Paxton on 4.1 pulley - 11psi currently
Stock exhaust manifolds
Stock cats (4)
Stock non-npp exhaust
Stock air box assembly with STOCK air filter (green filter backordered)
alky control w/ one nozzle and iat breakout

682 whp
630 tq

Pulls like a freight train, and the stock exhaust sounds completely different with all of the flow (sounds like an open wastegate on a turbo car)

Very pleased overall, will be shooting for 800/850 with an open style blower inlet and 2" long tubes on a slightly smaller pulley this summer!

While i was at the shop I picked up a 160 lingenfelter thermostat and installed it after the tune. Much less of a mess to install this one vs. my old c6. Car now cruises at 165/168 instead of 210/220 and oil temps stay in the 170s on a non z51. Best 30$ mod out there.
