Default Z51 oil top-off question

Just checked my oil after driving 1000 miles since my initial oil change. I drove the car to bring the oil to temp, shutdown and waited 10 minutes. I'm reading just below the hash marks. Based on your experiences, how much do I need to add? Talking 1/2 qt, full qt etc?

Cheers

PS I know the manual says add 1 quart if below the hash marks, but I'd rather hear real-world examples and not assume that just below the marks warrants a quart. BTW, no oil on hand at the moment so I can't just add a bit and check.

I check mine at the 5 minute mark, but it sounds like a half-quart will do ya. I try to keep my oil right around midway between the min & max marks to give myself some room for error in either direction.

Thanks. Think I'll do a 5 minute check before doing anything. In theory it should read higher. In any regard I don't seem to be too low or have cause for concern.

On a side note, I noticed the lower o-ring on the dipstick is burned through and is now a c-ring. Gotta get that off and replaced before it ends up in the tank.

Put in in the middle of the hash marks and you're fine. No reason to "top it off", you have plenty of oil.
