Aftermarket wheels for C7
#41
Wow!!! I knew you were making serious horsepower!! I also agree that you bought a quality wheel, and they look great on your car too. I wasn't sure if they had a horsepower limit on them or not? I can appreciate your thoughts on tearing up an axle or e-diff but, I only posed the question out of curiosity. I meant no disrespect towards the "quality" of the wheels.

I only have a crappy phone pic but I'll see what I can do.

TSW owns the following brands.
Cray - Corvette
Beyern - BMW
Mandrus - Mercedes Benz
Lumarai - Lexus
Victor - Porsche
Redbourne - Land Rover
Coventry - Jaguar
From what I've seen, the TSW/Crays won't rub if you stick with stock tires and stock+.5" widths at most heights. Once you go wider, things start to get dicey.

The E-diff/axle comment wasn't a crack (or at least wasn't intended to be) - it looks like on a hard hook that would usually crack a wheel, the E-diff just shatters or an axle snaps.
Cray is one of TSW's marque specific brands.

I hate the offset of the Stingray. the brake rotors practically stick out as far as the fenders. There are no good looking wheels for this car. Have to do a widebody conversion to get a decent looking set of wheels. This is by far my biggest issue with the C7, just in front of the infotainment system haha.
This, this, this, this, this, this.
I've never owned a vette till C7, always euro's and imports...and i'm a big wheel *****. Needless to say, I am disappoint...

If you don't care about the (typically) reduced weight and higher strength of forged wheels (one/two/three piece whatever) and looks are an important factor to you...There are more pressure cast wheels that look better on this platform then all the big boy forged wheels do. That's pitiful.
360 has a few good looking choices. But it's just super f**king rough trying to find some nice wheels for this car dude.

Endless supply of fittments (as in offsets, widths are a given)...meh.
I'll tell you exactly how I don't find any of the wheels attractive:
Absolutely ZERO concavity. None.
Don't want lips, don't like lips. Want concavity. Both require low offsets.

Sure...there's plenty of wheels out there. Sure. I don't dispute that.

Either get a different car
put on a widebody kit
narrow the rear end
but whatever you do, stop whining. Stop resisting reality, it won't change for you.

Reading comprehension FTW. You're not the sharpest cat out there, are you? The guy asked me why I didn't find the wheels attractive. I answered his question.

Yeah, you have made "that" clear alright.
Thanks for playing. Now take your ball and go home, troll.

No offense taken - for what I've spent on the car overall, I really cheaped out on the wheels.
I actually think they look nice, though. I didn't expect to like these as much as I did. I have expensive tastes in wheels, and wasn't quite ready to pull the trigger on a $6,000 set before trying something cheaper like these.
The E-diff/axle comment wasn't a crack (or at least wasn't intended to be) - it looks like on a hard hook that would usually crack a wheel, the E-diff just shatters or an axle snaps.
Spot-on! I almost mentioned this, but wasn't sure if they still had control of Cray. They use the same semi-forging (rotary) process, but the 'boutique' lines tend to be more well-thought-out than the normal TSW wheels with non-vehicle-specific offsets.

Melting Slicks
I too don't like the "spider web" design of many wheels.
I too prefer the simple 5 spoke wheel...actually I prefer the split 5 spoke.. like the Z51 OEM wheel.
After much thought, I decided to go with the Rennen M5S wheel.
I have ordered 19x10 front, and 20x11 rears.
These wheels are concave and are monoblock construction.
I expect (hope) to get them by mid May (10 weeks delivery from date of order).
I will be putting on 295x30x19 front tires, and 315/30x20 rears.
The tires are R888, so they are a little less wide than other brands.
Here's a picture of what that wheel looks like.
Once I get the wheels and tires mounted up, I'll post more pictures.
