Default Going to drag race my Vette tonight...tire PSI, launch RPM, etc;?

I was searching around on here didnt see any info on this yet as there was for the c5,c6 etc;

For those that ran there c7's already how did you run it ?

I am a 7mt z51 stock except for corsa xtreme exhaust (so stock) lol

what PSI did you drop your Rear tires too? inflate the front to ?

What did you launch at ?

traction off ? traction and stability off ?

it will be 40-50 degrees here tonight

thanks in advance for any info !

I knew how I ran my c5z and c6z but each car is diff ! lol

Try to warm the tires on the street if you can before the run, lower rear to 25 psi, raise fronts to 45psi cold. Fill the tank, do a good hot burn out, turn trac control off first. Do not snap the clutch out, let it out slow (slip it) Try 3000 rpm and concentrate not to spin. When car hooks, walk into the throttle, don't stab it

so I ran last night 38 front tires 25 rear.

best run was 12.5 @115.xx .. 2.088 (i think dont have slip in front of me) 60'

tank was half full. all my other vettes I used to race with less than 1/4 tank

this one is also 200 or so lbs heavier than my c6z was.

Best launch was the one at around 2-2500 and I slipped the clutch.

other 2 runs I spun (came off the clutch too fast) I am used to running on drag radials versus street tires.

From my experience drag racing my c7 A6 convertible...
Lowering the tire pressure did not help because the runflats have a very stiff side wall...
What did help was a good burnout to heat the tires..
My best time of 12.2 @116.7 2.0 60FT was achieved with traction control off and stability control on.. Spinning the tires only waste time...

Lowering tire pressure is for contact patch and takes some of the jolt out of the launch with a stick car. With a automatic trans your 60 ft times can be 1.9, 1.8 with a full tank.

If your a good driver, launch control will slow the car. Your best pass will be with trac control off, no launch control and you can feel all that is happening in the seat of your pants. If you do not have that gift , use launch control.

no launch control.. dont believe in that crap. raced my other 2 z06's , m3 , mustang, and srt10 viper with out it. no need to start using it now.

I would like to see a 1.9 60' on street tires to be honest but I have like 0 seat time on the track in my c7

Not really...there have been plenty of manual C7's running high 11's.

Probably at your track location but not down here in
South Florida (Bradenton). And on top of that at least the OP took the time to share his experience at the track. I would say that there are plenty of A6/A8's running high 11's. Are the manuals capable of going high 11's....of course. Low to mid 12's is what I am hearing for right now in stock form on an average.

I did about 6 runs in sacramento raceway starting from 32 psi's and lowering psi's on each run all the way to 15 psi's and i only got slower.. Only doing a burnout worked for me but my best 60ft was 2.04...My fuel tank was at 1/4. Tract prep plays a huge roll to achieve 1.9 , 1.8 i believe.

I had better luck taking my tires down to about 25 psi than leaving them stock. I have an A8 and went 11.52 on a 1.68 60' so I know if you practice enough you can get an M7 car to run way better than 12.5.
