Agreed. But the performance benefits of mid length headers is debatable.

Even LT headers on the C7 do not make a huge difference in performance numbers until you get a above 700 HP. The sound will certainly be better though. The C7 stock exhaust manifolds have a pretty good flow rate.

Thanx for the info.

Take a look at the LPE website. All of their C7 performance packages are listed without after market headers. (And LPE uses the stock air intake, changing only the filter.)

Best reason right there, to be honest.

Especially when ported. Mids have an advantage and gain, but LTs really shine when increasing flow through modding - the more the better.

They make o2 sensor "non-fouling risers" which get the sensor out of the middle of the blast to get them hotter and eliminate the problem you are talking about. I got mine from Breenspeed but don't know if the threads on the sensors are standardized and would fit a C7. Less then $40.

I was thinking of trying this or kooks green cats. I'm intersted in knowing the threads too. The site I was going to get them from claims 18mm x 1.5 is standard for about 99% vehicles?

Another benefit of LT headers would be weight savings -- maybe 20 - 25 lbs?
