Default C7GrandSport ECS supercharger 570 RWHP

What took me so long?

This was the first C7 delivered on Long Island. Within weeks of arrival it had custom paint, American Racing Headers and a tune by The Vette Doctors. It was a lot of fun back then with all the attention it got as the first C7 most people saw.

Mid length headers and tune picked up 35 HP and 41 ft/lbs of torque at the rear wheels over stock:

That seemed like enough for a while, but eventually the supercharger bug hit again (thinking back to my 2005, The Silver Devil). After a lot of research, I decided to go with ECS because I liked their design the best.

The Vette Doctors installed ECS 1500SL and Green Filter. Picked up another 133 HP and 146 ft/lbs on a conservative 7.7 lbs of boost:

At low RPM, you barely know it's there, except for the slight whine and the removal of the dreaded cylinder deactivation (it was worth doing it just for that alone!). However, once the blower kicks in at mid range, it just becomes a beast. Just the way I like it.

Thanks. You had to get me started on the Z51 tires. Living in the Northeast, I can't drive them below 40 degrees, so the car gets parked November through March. Now with the supercharger, I can't drive it for the other 7 months either. But man, the car looks great sitting in the garage.

Seriously, you just can't get stupid with it and mash it all the way, otherwise the car wants to go sideways.

I used to run drag radials on the back of my C5, but that wasn't much fun if I ever got caught in the rain. So for now, I'm staying with the stock tires.

I had the mid lengths already. Couldn't justify the cost of changing to long tubes for what I believe would be a marginal gain. The car borders on being too fast as it is!

I think it might be the opposite. LT headers scavenge better, not needed with forced induction, optimum for an NA application.
