Default What will it make? ECS Kit, Dead stock '14 Z51

I called the shop today and sounds like my car will be ready tomorrow.

So any guesses? I think my car is a good barometer because, A. It's dead stock, 100 percent, no meth or headers being added. B. Dr Phil is tuning it.

I asked them to tune for 93 octane.

So what I expect to see is a number reflective of a properly tuned and safe calibration with no extra's.

It should be a good example of what trading about $6,500 does for you HP wise.

I'm thinking 570-575 on a Dynojet. If it is getting tuned tonight/tomorrow then its just in the mid 60's right now and mid 70's tomorrow.

Congrats! I'm considering the Edelbrock supercharger as they offer a free drivetrain warranty which i think is pretty cool.

I'm also from West Bloomfield.

You don't mention A6 or M7. I'd say 550 with a good D/A on an M7. Guessing 535 for an A6 with a safe tune, no meth, no LT's and with the 7 lb restrictor plate.

Which restrictor plate did they install? 7psi or 8psi?

I would say 550-575 with the 7psi restrictor, maybe just a little more with the 8.

I also live in Michigan; Shelby Twp. Which shop did the install? Where did Dr Phil perform the tune?

I spoke to Phil about that last night and sent an email off to Paxton right after. They are supposed to come filled ready to go from them, sorry about that. Change the plug to the breather and your off.

My guess is 559.

OK so now I am more confused.

These are not self contained units, correct? Do they run off of engine oil?

That is the part that is confusing me. I assumed they were self contained since they said they needed oil for the SC, but if it has a line doesn't that mean it runs off of engine oil?

If it was engine oil why not just fill it with that, or I assume the amount of oil it would use is miniscule. They said they had to have oil shipped out for it.

I believe that the SL 1500 head unit is self-contained. I believe that it takes 4 ounces of oil that is supplied by Vortech/Paxton.

Yes the SL1500 is self contained. From the factory they are shipped with a plug installed that gets removed during installation and replaced with a vented fitting. There is also a drain hose that is already installed that can be routed to provide good access for draining the unit during oil changes.
