Default MAG ride control leakage

Early in the year I managed to catch a nice pothole on the driverside. Took it to the dealership for realignment & replacing the drivers side tires as you could see both had been pinched & were blistering up on sidewalls.

Now, currently I was changing my oil & checking all suspension & saw both front & rear mag dampers on the drivers side were wet. Something oily coming out from under the boot. I've cleaned them in the past but they still seem to be leaking.

Question is, they're obviously leaking but are these rebuildable

If GM saw this as a problem, I am fairly sure they would replace rather than rebuild. Although they could be rebuilt, just not worth it to them.

They wouldn't waste the time doing a rebuild, today its all about unit replacement.

I would take it back, with any luck they will just order a new one, replace it under warranty.

Had a leaky mag shock on my CTS-V and they swapped it out without hesitation. Only issues was the 5 day wait for a new one to come in. This was back in '11 before they had mag shocks on so many models. Think the part was $800, but covered under warranty.

If the car is under warranty see if they will replace them under warranty. Otherwise you are in for some shock sticker shock.
