Default Replace NPP tips?

I have seen at least one other post (C6) that was trying to replace the NPP exhaust tips. Has anyone done this on the C7 yet? I love the car, but engineers went home early without re-working the tips on the exhaust!

What do you think needs to be re-worked?

I have seen a thread, either here or on the "other" forum, where someone replaced the tips with black ones, IIRC.

That looks nice. The tips and lug nuts are the only chrome on the car. Definitely looking for a change.

I am not an auto engineer, but I think trapezoidal tips rotated 180 from each other would look pretty cool. Not sure about functionality though. There are no round parts (except wheels) on this car. Why round tips? If I keep these stock tips, blacking them out might be my next best option.

I like those tips they fit the shape of the car better than round tips do.

Sad to report our high temp painted black tips were a big FAIL. Two our of the four tips were showing signs of wear and premature flaking. The exhaust was removed and after getting a few professional opinions based on our needs and desired look, we decided to abandon our factory NPP black tips mod. RIP.

Skip ahead to this past Tuesday (11-10-2015). I called Borla directly and ordered their Z06 cat-back exhaust setup (part #11869). The exhaust was delivered last night (11-11-2015) around 6pm. This morning around 9am, I drove to Specialized Performance Coatings in Arlington, Texas. I dropped off my Borla exhaust to be professionally ceramic coated in black. I should have done this from the beginning. I'll snap a few pics when the exhaust is completed and feedback the results to this thread.

Thaks for the update! Id like to have my npp tips black as well. I dont want to cut them off and take them to the powder coater and then weld them back on though. Can the ceramic coating be applied to the tips while they're on the car?

No problem! As for the ceramic coating, it takes prepping, blasting, cleaning, coating and baking to add that type of finish. But it's a durable finish once it's all cured!

They look a whole lot better than the factory tips. No issue mounting them to the factory NPP ?

I agree. When I had the Corsa Sport exhaust installed, I chose the Polygon tips. It still didn't look right with two exhaust pipes and four holes, so I had two removed and now I think it looks a lot better.

Looks great! Where did you purchase from? Cheapest I'm finding is about $340 shipped. Although pricing might have went up since you purchased.

I'm thinking about using these for a custom setup on my c6 Z06.

Thanks,
