My HPDE Laps at Atlanta Motorsports Park
Last week I had a chance to do the SCCA Track Night in America event at the AMP track about an hour north of Atlanta. This was my first time there, and its a phenomenal course! If you ever have an opportunity, you should absolutely not miss this track. This is my 2015 Corvette Z51 A8, and I was running in Manual paddle shift mode. The only modifications to stock are LG competition sway bars, Carbotech XP10 brake pads, and K&N free flow air intake system. It was track prepped with Motul RBF 600 Dot 4 racing brake fluid and Mobil 1 heavy weight oil, 15W-50. This session was planned for 20 minutes but I cut it a little short because it was the third session of the day, and the transmission temp was close to overheating.

thanks for posting this. Nice driving. Car is pulling a lot of g's and smooth. Glad to see that the A8 held up for more than 15 minutes given the known overheating issues. My A6 will be hitting the track next week with just Thermo tec heat shields installed to cover the 270 degrees of exhaust facing the transmission. I'll see if that holds the temps down by themselves on the track. They already lower the temps by 20 degrees on the street. If not its onto the LG stage 2 transmission cooler for the car.

I recently drove a new Z06 at an Extreme Experience event at my home track, NOLA Motorsports near New Orleans. The power was nice but what I really wanted was those brakes! They were otherworldly compared to the stock Z51 so I went with the XP10's. I never tried the XP8's but the 10's make a huge difference, highly recommended.
The beefed up sway bars made the car stable as a rock, LG really knows what they're doing!
Heat shield wrap on the exhaust near the transmission is definitely next up for me, as I was always conscious of high temps back there, and tried to upshift at a little lower RPM when I could.
