Default GM part number for Z06/Z51 transmission oil cooler upgrade

I have the part numbers for two of the other recently announced Performance Group update kits (Z06 parts for the Z51), but not the one for the larger transmission oil cooler and 'hooded' quarter panel intake grilles. My local dealer doesn't show it in their system yet, and I tried contacting other dealers but got nothing so far. If anyone has that part number for both the cooler and the two grilles, please post here or PM me. Thanks.

TWICE AS COOL

CORVETTE SECONDARY RADIATOR

P/N 84037858 / MSRP: Early 2016

This radiator adds additional cooling capability to manual transmission Corvettes that see regular track use. This kit includes the lines and hardware necessary to mount and plumb this additional radiator to the front of any manual transmission-equipped Stingray. This includes base Stingray, Z51, and Z06 Corvettes. With the addition of this kit to a Z51 manual transmission car, the radiator fluid temperatures are lowered 25 degrees F, along with the engine oil temperatures down 15 degrees F. Addition of the Z06 grille further enhances the cooling capacity of this kit.

From the PDF:
Z06 Large Core Transmission (Manual Only)
Cooler Core Part: 23283460
Duct Part: 23212340
Lines Part: 23212375

$295 MSRP
$88 MSRP
$145 MSRP

I'm guessing that a Z51 owner would only need the core.

We already have the ducting and lines, and I for sure don't think lines would be different. I ordered the core by itself yesterday, and we'll see how it goes.

I only ordered the core. I think the rest is only needed for the base models.

I just ordered it this weekend! It's going to be a while before I can test it out at the track

I've recently switched to this platform, and data will have to wait for me before I can start testing the changes at the track. FYI, here is my build thread, which I think is going to create a great track machine; we'll see!

I saw that you are using 5W-30 Moblie 1?

Certainly a good choice for Anti-wear protection but it does not do so well with the oil temp in our car IMO tho.

I believe if I remembered correctly the starts breaking down at 260F
even if you have a oil cooler I believe a 0W-40, 5W-40, or 10W-40 will be a better choice, Motul certainly does provide a good oil, but just with super short change intervals which we have to do anyways because of the track days.

Transmission fluid I think the OEM have a great fluid, using Asmoil might give you some issues like warranty..

btw you are discussing the base C7 as well?

If you look at my recent post theres one talking about a protection system from GM on the Base Stingrays

if you are doing a long left turn or right turn with high-Gs the system thinks that you have oil starvation and forces you to upshift.

so I do not recommend the base C7 for track use since its really annoying and messed up the gearing.

I have a base stingray with A8 and aftermarket Transmission Cooler + Ron Davis Radiator + AP BBK ..Great on track..

BUT THE GOD DAMN forced up shift is so annoying, it really messed up the acceleration out of corners as well, and it is scary so I dont push on some corners since the upshift might upset the balance, and I dont wanna lose control at 100MPH.

Well, as my build title says, I do have a Z51 with manual, so hopefully I should not have those issues. Regarding oil, I cooked 5W-30 oil to 290 degrees on my Camaro 1LE at the track and the oil test results showed an oil in excellent shape, with no degradation whatsoever. So, I know for a fact that 5W-30 does not degrade, but I might end up using 0W-40, too, which is what I used to use on my previous Corvettes. Regarding the auto transmission, Amsoil's oil exceeds the requirements, so there wouldn't be an issue with warranty. GM used to use oil blends for transmission on C6s, which is what I'd like to avoid. If it's full synthetic, I'd happily use it.

this blog has a lot of information

if you heat it up to 275 the wear protection decrease.

Summit Racing has the best price on this.
Their web-site shows it for auto trans , but, checking with them it is a mistake, should be for M7 Z51. On back order as of now.

I think you're talking about the transmission oil cooler core that Z51s already come equipped with, which is cheaper. Did you check the part number?

Checked the part #.
This core is from the ZO6 as I understand and is an add on to the existing Z51 unit.
