Going to play with it for now, Will do some track days and we have a lot of local car cruises in in VA. Car has stock bottom end. There are guys pushing 22 psi on the same kits due to not porting head. It kinda a trade off for horsepower but the car doesn't have to work as hard to get there. This is a project car still so will post more soon.
I'm at about 22 psi on my YSI , without ported heads. When the F1x goes on in about a week or so we have LME ported heads going on as well, along with their intake. I think we are still going to be pushing about 25 psi though.

Guys, car is on 19 lbs of boost , dual meth kit, Brian Tooley custom grind cam, springs, Johnson lifters, ported heads, ARP bolts all around and stock bottom end. This is a tuner kit so the air intake is custom now because of F1X size. Everything else is bolt on and could be put back to stock Procharger does a good job with their kits. I'll just say the car put down 890 whp at 13psi! I purchased 3 pulleys for different boost levels up to 22. All fits under the hood!!!!!

The F1X blower comes on are REALLY starts to pull & moving the car in the almost 4,k RPM range to red line PLUS. But also running auto trans with a 3:42 c6z06 rear end set up.
Again you will love the set up in the car. Just be easy in the car at first it is a animal.

I really liked the boost curve on this blower it was really good for power on the top end & also comes in at a higher rpm range over the smaller blowers & it just keeps on pulling.

If you are running 19 lbs of boost I loved this blower over the YSI. If I was going to build a big set again it would have a F1X blower on it again for sure.

Also, that the vortech is more efficient. So from a tuning perspective what are your thoughts? Considering I have a fully built ERL block with all of the billet and forged goodies inside.
Tell your tuner that he will learn one day what makes power and what doesn't. I own the 2 fastest and built the 3rd fastest supercharged C6's. All run prochargers. Simple as that

OP, sorry for the thread jack. Nice C7Z. Back to your nice car! What kind of power are you shooting for with each of your pulleys?

I know they make good power. My question is how they make power in comparison(overspinning and heat soak is what I'm trying to shy away from). However, everything I have read about the F1X sounds like the perfect setup. I'm a newbie with high horsepower applications which is why I'm asking. My tuner seems to be reputable (mainly with twin turbo and pro mod cars). For big power they like to switch over to those setups but I can't afford something like that. Frankly, I'm really happy with how the centri setups make power so I would like to upgrade but I don't think the YSI has enough cfm to make me happy. Anyways, how about efficiency?

I will tell you this the YSI is a excellent head unit more so if you over spin it with like a 2.75 pulley. It will make over 1,k rwhp on a stock c5 ci motor. Now step up to a F1X on a 427 ci motor I know my c5 RHS 427 would NOT stop pulling on the top end. But I had a RHS block in it and a lot of guys was having the block to crack that was pushing up to 30 psi. So I had it down to 25 psi.
But back to you question the YSI really does it best on a 2.75 pulley and just over spinning the blower. It loved it and did it's best..
