Width may not be an issue but that tire is way too tall at 28.74. The R888 is slightly tall at 27.6 but I think that would be tolerable and have seen other guys run it. Not too much tire selection for grip in a 20. I ordered new wheels and am battling that now as well.

Yeah I'm finding if you really want grip you have to move down to a 19" rear wheel. Your best chance at grip on a 20" wheel is probably the 295(or 315)/30/20 R888. Otherwise moving down to a 19" rear with a proper drag radial is the best choice I'm finding. That's what I'm doing and that makes me sad because I like the look of the 20's.

I have 19" replica Z51 wheels on the rear with Nitto NT05R's in 305/35/19. Overall tire/wheel diameter is very close to stock, so no rubbing issues.. and, these tires hook up pretty well at the strip..

The tire in the thread title 20' 315/35/20 Nt05R is what they stated under the picture. It's not my car to verify, but it certainly looks like a +28in tire to me in the picture.

I tried it. Don't work. You could prob get rid of that carpet wheel well guard but I'd didn't want to have to do it. Goin to try 305 30 20.

I wonder why yours did not fit, and they fit fine on THETA's car, per the link that I posted above?

The difference in the wheel I tried was a nto5r that was a 315 35 20 and the proxie is a 315 30 20. I know the 305 30 20 works but they only make the nt05 not the nt05r. Just hard to find a good drag radial or something to hook up with high hp with a 20 I guess. The struggle is real.

Gotcha. So why didn't you go with the Toyo R88 315 30 20? I may do that with the 265 35 19 up front.

I just really wanted the nt05r on there but obviously didn't work with the sizes they make. I saw somewhere on her someone did the nt05 in the 305 30 so I pulled the trigger right then. I'm most likely goin to try out the Toyo after I run these rears out. I won't know till I try em. Unless someone else chimes in!!!!

I used Nitto NT05, not NT05R, as a drag radial and they didn't hook. This was with a Pontiac G8 GXP with bolt ons including a 3200 torque converter. I got rid of them and went with the NT05R and they hooked big time.

I decided to go with House of Wheels and get two 19x10 gloss black reproductions. I'm also going with Nitto NT05R in 305/35/19.

Here are the Nittos for a really good price. This tire is only .68 taller than the stock 20" tire. To be honest, I've had great luck with Nitto drag radials (you've got to really heat them up like the video I will attach), however I can't understand why the Mickey Thompson drag radials are >$100 per tire.

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...%2FPerformance

Here's how to heat up the Nittos for max hook.
