Default Z06 brakes on base model?

Anyone know if the z06 calipers and rotors will bolt up on a base model (non z51)

Seen a few around here and there as guys that race are upgrading to racing brakes and selling stock calipers and iron rotors

I know I need bigger wheels... In the process of doing that now.
Just curious if I'd need any other brackets or anything?

The calipers bolt right to the spindle. There are no brackets.

So if I'm reading this right, there's all kinds of things on the Z06 that I can bolt right up to the base C7.

I see the car in the picture with z06 brakes and z51 wheels... but that link to the chevy site says the z06 brakes will not work with stock z51 wheels.

That was news to me "These brakes will not fit under base Stingray or Z51 wheels. They require a minimum of 4mm wheel clearance between the outboard face of the caliper and the inner wheel spokes."

I saw the same thing... Maybe they installed spacers with them, who knows? Maybe someone on here who was at SEMA could comment on that.

My take on this was, "it can be used for show and gentle driving, but not under hard circumstances and is not in any way recommended."

So they probably fit, but not properly and safely.

I have to disagree...a 6mm hub centric wheel spacer with ET lug nuts will provide the clearance necessary for the calipers and are 100% safe. The key is the right spacer and the right Extended Thread Lug nuts. Or you can simply buy z06 wheels who's spokes angle better for caliper clearance ... all models of the corvette have the same wheel hub and bolt pattern.[ATTACH]Name: IMG_2022.jpg

Can you provide details/link to the lug nuts?

So you used a 6mm spacer, did that get you to 4mm clearance? Less / more?

Thanks

Do you know what the minimum spacer thickness is that you need (to achieve the 4mm space to trhe wheels that GM recommends) ?
Thanks.
