Borla X-pipe vs Corsa Double helix

Borla X-pipe vs Corsa Double helix
I know there are alot of threads about these two X pipes. I have yet to find anything that tests both products and gives some hp number (dyno)
I'm going to be looking to do this upgrade and I'm seeking some info on which to go with. I understand that the corsa is a larger pipe but then shrinks back down which I'm my opinion would cause the flow of exhaust not to be so smooth. The borla is one size but does not have the double helix section.
I know gains are minimal with this mod just looking for the best bang for my buck!

Borla weighs less. Sounds great (Noise Fluff a 10!) when you really get on it. Inside, it isn't any louder than stock if driven normally.
Only issues I had with install was at back. Had to really wiggle the stock pipe up and down to get it off. Then I had to bend the end of the Borla a bit wider to get it over the stock NPP axlebacks because they are only anchored near the back, and the pipes one is merging with can swing backwards as well as sideways. I would suggest spraying them liberally with lithium or silicone grease so they slide on easier. This would apply to any x-pipe installation where it slides on, rather than bolts up using flanges.

^Great point. I personally used a high-temp copper anti-seize compound and it worked well.

And you can also rent/borrow a pipe expander from Autozone to open the ends of the x-pipe up a little and they slip right on with a little lub. They charged me $40 but refunded it in full when I returned the tool.

Melting Slicks
The borla is expanded from 2 3/4 to 2 7/8 and has slits on the rear attach area allowing a great seal when clamped on the OE rear section which is 2 3/4. The double helix is 3 inch in the rear and does not allow the same sealing to the OE rear section pipe which is 2 3/4

My understanding is that the inlets and the outlets are 2.75 but the rest of the piping is 3 inch making it fit over the existing piping perfect. If not then it makes its a pretty simple choice to go with the borla.

The Corsa is a straight 3.0" throughout. It does not seal on the stock axle-back as well as the Borla does, which fits like a glove, and basically has to be crushed down onto the stock piping with the clamps. This was one of my complaints about the Corsa when I did my comparison write-up.

Not sure, I didn't have any issues installed the Corsa with the stock NPP nor later when I upgraded to the Borla Atak dual mode mufflers... nor later yet when I added the ARH mid-length headers with cats. Everything fit fine and no leaks.
Either way, the catless x-pipe upgrade is a nice little bump to the sound.
