pretty typical when you are drag racing a car with tight suspension. corvettes are not "drag cars."

So I'm going to be around 750-800rwhp when I get my car back. I don't track my car but I do get the occasional urge to run someone on the street. I'm thinking theses tires are probably not for me. What do you guys think???

not for a daily driver, I run 295 MPSS with 950rwhp.

600 rwhp is one thing. 800, 900, 1000 is another thing. they are all going to spin on the street with proper street pressure, etc. just get something that isn't crazy loud, super fast wear, etc and just control yourself.

Say I'm going 40 MPH and I punch it with around 800 rwhp is my *** end going to swerve around? I had a 2013 Z06 with 643rwhp that of course was a stick and it seem to handle it pretty well. I'm just trying to get a idea what it is going to be like when I get it back.

I have the S/S's on my 820rwhp car. They hook very well at the track (305/40/18). Only issue I had with that size is I had to raise the car up quite a bit and they still rubbed the back inner fender liner bolt. Raised up some more and took the bolt out and everything is fine now.

I have a set of these wheels on currently (Mickey Thompson SS). I run my 2015 Z06 as a show car, weekly driver, and drag strip occasionally. I am no professional on tires and/or performance but I do LOVE these tires. They warm up relatively easy, grab on the streets, and grab on the drag strip. In fact I just drove from Georgia to North Carolina - unfortunately about 50 miles in the rain, then as soon as I made it to SC it cleared up and I opened her up on so many different levels. I had no issues with comfort, noise, and/or hooking. I would buy these tires again.

Also forgot to mention that I utilize my launch control a good bit on both street and drag strips and have not been disappointed yet.

Skinnies up front should fix that. I ran them with my E/T streets on my 10 sec C5 many many years ago. In fact I designed the 10 sec avatar for this forum around the same time that tells you how long 😃.

Sorry to bring this thread back... but i'm looking at tires to support my new setup. LS3 with a Ti Trim. Should be roughly 730whp. 6 speed car.

I do lots of high speed pulls. 150-170mph... a lot.

Is this a tire I should stay away from because of that?

What size are you going with?? I'm having 18" installed right now and I'm picking my car up the Saturday. I know there was a bad batch of 20" that guys said were bad. I can let you know Saturday.

As it relates to the drag strip on these tires, the tires hook very well. At first they seemed to dance/moved around a good bit once you get to a bit higher speeds. The moving around was a bit nerve racking at times.

After some wear, the tires don't seem to move around as much now. If I had it to do over, I think I would try the Nitto NTO5R drag radials. I have these on 18" rims.

Yes, with 640 you'll be fine on those 19's and pleased with the performance.

Make sure you take the runflat tires off the front if you have them. I'm going through this right now. I'm having non runflat tires put on the front today. I've had 2 of my buddies tell me once they took them off that their cars ran great. I know with them on my car scared the **** out of me because it's all over the road.
