Default Loud clicking noise while turning slow

I purchased my car brand new 8 months ago. This will be the second time this issue has to be fixed from the dealer.

Loud external clicking noise while turning left or right coming from the front. It's quite embarrassing pulling up to valet or parking garage, etc.

Such a beautiful ride with a loud clicking noise.

Anyone else have the same issue? I know it can get fixed, but is there a solution so that the noise doesn't come back.

Is it when you are going very slow? Are you talking about "wheel hop". If so it is normal

It's when I'm going slow and turning left or right. Loud clicking noise. Definitely not normal. It's different than the wheel hop. I know that's normal.

It's been fixed before. But the noise came back. The dealership is fixing it now. I was just wondering how can I avoid this from happening again in the future.

Thanks for the reply.

It's been fixed. At least for now. The service department took both front wheels off and basically cleaned up everything behind it. That's all I know. If I find out more info, I'll post it.

Could have potentially been loose lug nuts.

Not this. Your issue is normal tire hop.

OP, this is often caused by corrosion between the wheel and rotor hub. Dealer wire brushes and cleans. This usually fixes for a bit. Many report it returns. Seems more Z06 owners complain if it. I've never personally had the issue.

Agree with xp800. My C6 had this really bad. If I pulled the offending wheel off and cleaned the brake rotor and wheel where they contact each other it would go away but not for good. I used some fine grit wetsand sandpaper.

I had the exact same issue. Dealer pulled my suspension apart and said the axles were improperly greased. Take it to them ands they'll do it in a couple hours.

Does the clicking noise come back? The dealership fixed mine but it comes back every 3 weeks! There has to be a solution to fix for good.

Thanks for the PDF doc. I'll share with the dealership service department. Once you fixed it did the noise ever come back? In my case, it comes back every 3 weeks.

Didnt come back for 6 months or so then I sold the car. I just used brake clean on a scotch brite pad and wiped everything down, no wire brush or sandpaper. I think a proper retorque with a decent torque wrench is an important part of it.

Just got it fixed again for the 6th or 8th time and the clicking noise is back after 2 weeks. Trying to get into a 2016 or 2017 when it comes out. This is unacceptable!

Unfortunately, Florida Lemon Law officially processed. Last repair attempt coming up next week. Good luck!

Thought this was just the floating rotors or something. Seems to be very common, mine has done it from day one.

This shouldn't be common. Below is a link to the reference video on my Dropbox. Annoying noise while turning!

Had the same issue. The dealer fixed it 3 months ago and never heard it again. I don't remember what was the exact issue but the technician told me that it wasn't a major issue.

I purchased my car last year July 15, 2015. Since then, I've been to the dealer over 20 times for multiple issues. This is only one! The dealership tried fixing the clicking noise issue over 6 times. Depending how much you drive, the noise comes back after 3 weeks - 4 weeks. Apparently it's only 2014 -2015 Vettes with this issue!
