The car is well sealed. This is a very good thing and there isn't anything wrong with the car.
The C7 doors need to be slammed because of the stiffness of the door/window seals. After a few door slams it gets easier. I have had my car for 4.5 months and the driver's door is now much easier to close than the passenger side door which doesn't get used as much. If you roll the windows down the door should shut easier since you aren't engaging the window seals.

Actually the windows drop a bit when you open the door for specifically that reason. They auto roll up after you close the door.

I was reading that the car is sealed so well that the rear hatch assist was installed on newer models because people would close the rear hatch so hard that it cracked drivers and passengers windows sometimes.

Slam away, that's what I did at first. The car is very tight to begin with.
Now, it doesn't need as much force as the first ten thousand miles did. Same as the trunk lid.

Yes it is free (warranty) work. Not sure if it includes convertibles, I would think so but you should contact the service folks at your dealership. Good luck.
