Default Ran into a fifth Gen Viper GTS today

Out for a nice cruise somewhere (in mexico) Today and ran into a really nice black Gen V Viper. This is basically the first real run since the mods were installed.

I saw him getting on the highway out of the corner of my eye but couldn't tell what it was. I noticed him closing in fast and catching up pretty quickly. At first I thought it was a black C7Z because the DRL are similar. As he got closer I could tell it was a Viper. Roads in front are clear. I'm in sport mode so I change to track since the A8 shifts faster in track mode. He comes over in the right lane and I can hear him downshift. I blipped the throttle and the trans shifts down into the lowest gear possible. Performance shift mode

I was thinking that is a sweet looking car so I give the guy a thumbs up and he does the same, cool guy! I think he probably saw I wasn't a Z06 and figured he would give me the hit. He's giving me the go signal so I punch it and he does the same. The car takes off!! He stays in it but couldn't catch up. I'd say I had about a good 3-4 cars on him by the time we let off.

He looked shocked lol we pulled off into the nearest lot and chatted for a little. It was a 15 GTS and he said it had an intake and exhaust. I told him about the ECS kit and meth injection with longtubes and he really loved the set up. Def a cool guy and awesome day!

My car is a 15 Z51 A8 With ECS 1500 kit with AR headers and meth injection. Makes 620rwhp at 8lbs. Plenty of room to grow with this set up. ECS did an awesome job as usual.

Great story! I also admit the Gen V is an amazing looking car.

Nice!!! I've been cruising all week all I ran into was a Procharged Mustang 5.0. I need to find some tougher competition.

Sickness. Next year that will be my project. Drop in forged pistons. Small blower cam and rims/tire package.

I ran into a very surprised brand new Z06 owner the other day. I know the aero hurts them at high speeds but even I was a bit surprised.

Lmao I don't think those guys like me over there very much either. I have already been snubbed 2x by C7Z06 owners that I saw while out and waves at. No waves back lol ah well

there are a lot of vette newbies driving Z06's. the C7 brought a lot of people from other makes over and they don't know about the wave yet.

(plus you're in jersey where everyone hates each other, right?)

Higgs you always offer great advice and make good points but that last one you made is the best one yet

With a conservative breakin tune on 93oct 11lbs boost 765/644. The plan is to turn it up a notch here shortly.
I will have drag strip times soon.

That's strong. I have pretty much the exact same setup with 15lbs of boost and am at 800 rwhp. My tuner is conservative with timing on the low side and running pretty rich but honestly I can't put any more to the ground with my nt01s anyway so all is good.

Nice Story

a used Viper GTS is certainly in my bucket less

cost less than a Z06 but less issues, but packs less technology and comfort and limited tire choice

although GTS is the comfort version.
