Default Emissions and Hi-flow Cats

On my 2011 GS, I installed Stainless Works headers, high flow cats and x-pipe. It could not pass the emission test in North Carolina even with extensions on the O2 sensors. I was told by one shop that Kooks was the only one that produced true emission friendly cats. Now that I have my 2015 broken in I am looking at the same set up, but ARH headers and hi-flow cats have been recommended and I am gun shy. Anyone have any experience with passing emission tests with high flow cats, in particular ARH?

Usually the tune can help get away with it, but just go with the Kooks "Green" cats and call it a day. A couple of people I know that run them and they pass emissions.
Good luck!

When we had emissions testing here I passed a tailpipe test with headers, high flow cats, heads, and cam

Visual inspection? Tailpipe? Diagnostic scan?

There is no sniff test in NC so why is this even an issue as long as your car isn't throwing a CEL?

most states do an OBD diagnostics test now.. and you will not pass with trouble codes thrown.. which is what will happen with those mods.. you need to get a tune in order to have the necessary trouble codes disabled that get triggered by the headers and high-flow cats.. then you will pass just fine.

that's a good point monte, I think we all assumed he had a tune to go with his headers. I know I did! woops.
