Default Borla X-Pipe 60547......db results!

I just installed my new borla x-pipe (#60547) this past weekend and wanted to offer my sentiments regarding the installation/sound characteristics.

Here is the stock idle db rating (Track Mode) standing ten feet away at the rear:

Here is the post install borla x-pipe db rating (same parameters):

There was a very slight increase in cabin drone as well. My car is still under break-in so I cannot get a WOT run. However, it is louder across all rpm's. The interior db rating, at idle, was miniscule so I didn't save a screen cap.

FWIW! I used the free app on my iPhone to measure this.

I can just still some what of a diff in my LT headers, 3 inch mid pipe with back cats off the car, Then with Borla ATKA on the car with NPP. But in track are port mode on a good hard WOT pull it is a good diff's in the sound.

But I would have thought the sound on my car would have been much louder than it is just driving the car in track r sport with getting on it in the car.. Sure was not worth the money on my part just for the little more in the sound only. Robert

........I would not recommend this upgrade (if one could call it that) as it seems pointless. I don't think there are any performance increases with just the x-pipe install. A full exhaust swap would be different.

Live and learn folks.

performance results? Not really. But you're deleting the secondary cats which reduces sound. I've used decibel apps on my phone and found them to be inconsistent with an actual calibrated decibel meter.

I'm just a shade tree mechanic but I wrench everything. Your experiences may be different.

I do not recommend wasting money on a simple x-pipe install......as I did.

Better flow with the Borla xpipe, there has to be a HP gain. Even if its 5 hp, its worth it for the sound while rowing thru the gear's and almost a 10 lb weight loss.

The sound alone is more than worth it.

Pull fuse 42 and give it some WOT blasts. The smile on your face will give you an indication of this mod's intrinsic value...

Pulled the fuse before I drove the car off the dealer lot.

Pulled the fuse the first week. Have 4000 glorious miles, 2000 with the Borla xpipe.

Plenty of wot to redline is all it takes , radio never on.

I never turn the radio on. Perhaps the borla will grow on me (if I don't get rid of the car).

I posted my CAI setup for sale if anyone wants it.
