Default K&N Air Filter - Oil or Not

I'm installing a K&N filter and I'm just not sure whether to install it dry or with the K&N oil. I've heard the oil can damage the mass air flow sensor. Any opinions?

I think they come oiled. The K&N filter only works if it is oiled. Over oiling is the problem.

To much of the oil is not good.

Don't run those filters without oil, they will not filter effectively. The filter elements are very high flow, and require the oil to capture particles, if you leave the oil off of it, it will let very large particles through. Just be careful not to over-oil it, it doesn't take much, and your MAF sensor should be ok.

If you want a dry high-flow filter, check out Airaid and AFE. I've been using AFE's Pro Dry S for years with great results on various cars.

Just oil it been using them for 40 years. No issues just don't soak it
with oil. You will be fine never had a sensor issue.
