Default Cats vs no cats?

So going to upgrade to kooks 1 7/8 long tubes and their x pipe. Also adding a&a blower planning on 550+ rwhp.

So what's advantages or disadvantages to going with or without cats?

Sorry meant for c6 tech

I have similar set-up with cats and there is no mistaking the fact that you have headers but without the incessant drone, even when cruising. There was a guy at the shop bringing his back in to add cats for the above stated reason and he complained of the strong smell of fuel from under the car.

you will have a fuel smell without them. Definitely worth it to have them.

i have a c7 sc +catted a friend of mine have the same no cat. His vette sound louder, mine sound m way better. With the npp valves open i have resonance in the cabin up to 2000 rpm. Without cats is even worst. If i have to doit all over, it would be wirh the catted

With E85 the smell isn't AS bad. I think if you know you'll stay at 550rwhp then go ahead and get catted, but if you plan to build a lot more power down the road then go catless.

Having cats will also prevents the raspiness that usually comes with long-tubes. Some like the sound, but it's not personally our cup of tea.

I noticed very little difference in smell between cat and no cats. Only time it's an "issue" is the garage but it rarely idles in there. Driving around, I don't smell a think on pump gas.
