Valvoline Oil instead of Mobil 1?
Got a coupon from my local Tire Kingdom for a full synthetic oil change on sale for $49.99. I called up to see if they use Mobil 1 which is what I have used for my 2016 Stingray the 1st 2 times at the dealer. They use Valvoline Full Synthetic which my trusted guy (I have used on all my vehicles for decades) said that it is just as good if not better. He says they do Corvettes with it all the time. I would like to get opinions from both sides of this before I commit. I know I can go buy the Mobil 1 & they will put it in for me at the same price which is still cheaper than a dealer oil change.
Thanks,
Mark

If the Valvoline Oil they put in is Dexos Rated as the Mobil 1 oil is rated then it should be fine.

Valvoline Full Synthetic in both 5W30 and 5W20 is Dexos rated and should be fine. I only show the "Advanced" here but both the "Advanced" and the regular are Dexos.

NAPA brand full synthetic oil is made by VALVOLINE, carries the Dexos symbol, and can be had for less than $ 4.00 a quart when on sale, usually about 4 times a year.

I use Valvoline synpower in all my cars, including the Stingray. Valvoline still offers a 300,000 mile guarantee against oil related engine failure if you use the full synthetic. Also, I saw the results of a standard cam wear test where Valvoline performed four times better than Mobil 1, and technically, Mobil 1 failed the test. By the way, I buy Valvoline in 5 quart jug for $24 from WalMart. Also I only use Wix filters.
