With the SAE hp certification process they use I doubt whatever the hp is, that it ends with a "5" or a "0". Easy to do that when your not putting out a certified number. But since they will put out a certified number it's likely to be something other than 605. Would be more likely to be a 603 or 608 or . . . well you get the point.

Remember the 1st C5 Z06. It was 385hp and the very next year they came out with 405hp.
Could this be history repeating itself with a 585 for he 1st year and 605 for the 2nd year? Would they have the ***** to do that again?

Not even any leaks of embargoed photos from the magazines even though the Z06 will likely be on the cover of C&D, R&T, Automobile, and MT 4 weeks from now.

With the new GTR coming in at 600hp and of course the Viper at over 600hp I will say 625hp would be a good starting point. I must start adding to my bank account..

It is called "direct injection"....no need to reduce timing if no fuel is in the cylinder.

Direction Injection loves superchargers/turbos.

EXACTLY! GM stating that is going to be the greatest track car ever is a clear indication that WONT be supercharged! Hey I love all power adders but blowers are DEAD as far as OEM goes! I am NOT bashing blower they are awesome in the aftermarket world.

That's an LS2 at stock 10.9:1 compression and no warranty. What the aftermarket does is entirely irrelevant to factory engines. The LT4 is has to last 100k hard miles, as that's the length of the powertrain warranty. A bone stock LS9 will do that. An LS3 with a 2300 won't.

LG ran a bigger radiator and a relocated heat exchanger to fight the heat on their hillclimb/hpde ZR1.

This is from 2011.

"Edelbrock announced today two great enhancements to its E-Force line of supercharger systems. The first is the expansion of their supplemental warranty program that now includes three warranty options (Silver, Gold and Platinum) based on the consumer’s desired term and coverage limits with no deductible on any of the plans. Edelbrock has E-Force warranty plans available in terms from 3-year/36,000 mile up to 5-year/100,000 mile with liability coverage ranging from $9,000 to $19,000. “Based on customer feedback and ever-expanding warranty coverage from the vehicle manufacturers, we have rolled out more warranty coverage options that include expanded mileage and coverage limits”, stated Edelbrock VP of Sales Steve Whipple. “These options allow the consumer to choose the coverage that’s right for their vehicle.” According to Edelbrock, E-Force consumers can simply elect the coverage limits that they prefer, based on their vehicle, and mail in the warranty registration to activate coverage."

irv is dead on... they will detune the car somewhat... when it's a purpose built supercharged car, vs. just 'adding a blower' to an N/A motor.

150HP will be a big upgrade from just a blower... Only 2 more weeks till we find out!

Yet you are predicting 605hp? How do you predict they get there?

Huh?

Direct injection means that the fuel is injected directly into the cylinder as opposed to upstream of the intake valve. How is there no fuel in the cylinder?

Will they come out with the price in Jan or make everyone guess until you can order one?

I think he means that because DI allows precise control of when the fuel is injected into the combustion chamber, you don't have fuel already in the combustion chamber that you're worried about pre igniting.

No no, I'm saying 150 is going to happen, and that's quite a feat in itself with the warrany, and longevity. 200 isn't going to happen from the GM... but it will happen from the tuner side!

Peace,
Dave
