This Z06 = No G/S!

Why do you say that?
I can agree with a fully optioned C7 being 75k and a base Z being 80(?) there is not much room, but, we don't know the pricing for sure yet.

I see no reason why they wouldn't offer a Grand Sport like they did with the C6. In fact as far as I can tell the C7 is following the C6 model pretty closely. Launch with base and z51 option package, year later introduce Z06 (Plus replace old auto with new auto), year after that mid-cycle refresh and replace Z51 with Grand Sport?
LT1(2?) engine, with Z06 wide-body, Z51 spoiler, splitter, base z06 brakes, & wheels and tires.
Sounds like a winner to me.

Perfectly logical.

I'll take it!

There will be a bunch of base stingrays running around with the Z06's rear fenders and rear fascia, and wider rear wheels/tires, as soon a they are available over the parts counter, just as it was with C6 Z06's rear fenders showing up on base c6's. Plus the C7's Z06 front grille insert will drop in the stingray's opening.

The Grand Sport package came out to offset the drastically low sales of the base Corvette near the end of the C6 production cycle. It helped keep the Corvette afloat through the last years of the C6 but i doubt very seriously that we'll be seeing it anytime soon on the C7. I could be wrong, and more power to those who really want a widebody C7 but to me it seems very unlikely.

I hope not also. That's one thing I did like about the C5 Z06 when it came out was the FRC, badging, brake ducts etc. so it would diffrentiate itself from the base C5. However, like was stated earlier as soon as the body parts come available people will add them to the base Stingrays to achieve the same look.

No matter, I still love my under-powered POS '06 Z06.
PS: Anyone know if the C7 Z06 will have the flying roof option?

Well that an the Z06 is a lot more money.... The Grand Sport replaced the Z51 package last time, I would guess it will do the same this time.
#15
Sure that's why...Grand Sport was/is a money maker and will continue this time with a bump in HP/TQ a lot of HP/TQ 460 between 620...jmho

The Z06 will have a removable CF roof that can be left in place, and those that do not like the new A8 option can order the standard manual transmission no additional cost option.
I think this is a great marketing strategy, maximize the Z06 sales, or, as Tadge stated, this will be the last Z06 Corvette design.
