Default 2015 vs 2016 Z06

-POLL-

Since the 2015 Z06 will be a "half year" car, ie Jan. 2015 - Jun 2015 vs the 2016 that will be a full one year production car:

Will you order the 2015 or the 2016 Z06?

Seems to me that waiting for the car review, customer reviews an additional 6 months or much less since many will not even get their car order in January, is a good idea to get the 2016 and be first in line.

I certainly would like to have the information/feedback on the car before ordering. AND I do not need to be the first on the block to have one in my garage.

I realize this is like asking a bunch of kids,

Do you want your Ice Cream...
1. Now before Dinner, or
2. After Dinner.

Yeah, Bob. IMO, your ice cream analogy is spot on. At least for me, it's not as if the money is burning a hole in my pocket but, the "waiting for something better" syndrome seems to be the torture. Do you then, if you wait for the 2016 Z06, wait a little longer for the next "must have" ( ZR/L88/?). I still think I want my ice cream now. If I could have it all, I'd be driving my '14 Stingray, with a deposit on a Z06//7 and on the list for the next "Super whiz bang" evolution. But alas, my pockets are not nearly so deep.

I'm waiting till at least the latter part of the 2016 production run, which should only be just over a year since the 2015 hits the streets. Since I'm planning on a Z06 A8, I'm waiting till the new tranny and LT4 is fully run in and multiple user reports have surfaced. I'm in no rush and may well wait to order a 2017.

Smart move. I wanted a early 2016 for the same reason. My dealer is confident I will get a 2015 because of my spot on his list. If it turns out I get a 2016 I will be very happy though

I too will wait until 2016 or even 2017 model year just as I did with the C6Z. Waited until to 2008 and got the upgraded trans and interior...wish I would have waited until 2009 to get the larger dry sump tank, but I can't complain too much. My 08 Z has been good to me.

If I was getting the A8 I would wait but I'm getting the manual so it should be ok.

Watch the 2015 Stingray, as it will also have the A8 as an option and that will provide some valuable insight as to how it will work in the Z06.

I do not have any inside info. I do believe the c7 z06 is not going to be as scarce as some believe. I think bowling green plans on making a lot of them.

2015 for me. Why wait?

If the 15 has gremlins then it will be traded for a 16.

Plus, I do not think you can get and or even order a 2016 z06 in June. If that was even true, what data/feedback/quality checks, do you expect to happen in 5 months?

Base on the trend of the 1st year Stingray, I think the 2015 Z06 will run close to a full year before they change out to the 2016.

I have a basic rule to new platforms and car models.....wait until the 3rd year of production to purchase. Hopefully they get the C7 Z06 100% right the 1st year but, I don't want to be the unhappy buyer like many C5 Z06 owners were just a year after they bought their ultimate Vette while paying over MSRP

I like to have the greatest and latest. If I wanted to save money and ensure it's a proven car, I would wait for the last year. 2nd or 3rd year is the middle ground. But then again, they might raise the price after the 1st year like they did with the Stingray.

Yeah if I was going with the manual, I'd probably go sooner as well. Shouldn't be too much integration issues to worry about with the stick.

I'm with you on that approach. Course the age old struggle for vette junkies is using restraint when the hot new vette toy comes available.

Oh it will!! I wasn't aware that the C7 was getting the A8 yeah guess that would give the auto a run before the Z06 comes out.

Neither. I need to pay off the 427 first so it will likely be a 2017 for me. Lifetime dream to own two Vettes at the same time.

Default 2016 or even 2017 is my target window

I enjoy my 427 but 650/650 is just to awesome. I will most likely not pay off my 427 and sell it to get the new Z.
I want to see everything play out a bit before I bite into the 100K.
Just got a P C4S last weekend. So I will wait to get the car just right with all that Hwp/Trq.
Way cool.
