Cool. Thanks for the post.

Here's a little more of the same. I hope the author is wrong about new hires assisting in the assemblying the LT4.
I also am concerned about consistency in quality control split between two facilites, but hey I'm just along for the ride.

I took a BG plant tour in April, and they were busy building the high-performance engine assembly area. I assumed that all of the Z06 engines would be built there, but given the small size of the area (in the BG plant itself), it makes sense it would be only for the engine build experience, which I believe to be but a fraction of the total supercharged engine production.

I guessing GM is planning on cranking out a lot of Z06s, & BG
doesn't have the capacity.
I really need to make a tour of BG. Maybe I can squeeze in a museum delivery into my budget, since my vert won't arrive til spring.

Plus they are building the 1500 or so crate & Camaro LS7s.

They were targeting a goal of 180 cars per day when we were there, and that is a lot of drive trains to crank out in two shifts.

Just returned from the plant tour and guess what, at the end of the tour there set two new Z06s a coupe and a vert., both red. OMG I'm in love. I asked the tour guide why she didn't even acknowledge the Z06s and she said she was told not to point them out. WOW talk about being in the right place at the right time.

Yep - we were there on the 13th picking up the wife's car and saw them churning out motors. Problem is that they are assembling Stingray motors along side Z06 motors, and the limited Z28 motors as mentioned above, so that is major contention for the limited space.

Im #1 at my dealer for a ZO6 ... I wonder how much more it will cost to help build your own engine. Id love to do that but I dont think I will spend the money on it. Does anyone have an idea on a guess to what that may be?

Doubt you can do that... None of the tour went anywhere close to the engine assembly area, let alone inside. We were able to view it from across the roadway only. Looked like a computer clean room.
