Default C7 Z06 too heavy??

is it me or the 3450 pound Z06 is way too heavy to be a race bread supercar?, this is a supercar which will be compared to the lights of the 991 GT3, 458 Speciale, and the Lamborghini Huracan which weighs a lighter 3153, 2844 and 3135 respectively. this car is about 250 too heavy, the C6Z was praised for its light weight of just 3146 pounds. i strongly believe this car should be no more than 3200 pounds.

what do you all think?

I think it's unrealistic. Unless you want a supercharged 650hp V8 full carbon car for around 3-700k.

As long as it gets around the track quick I'm fine.

maybe half the car can have carbon fiber panels such as the Z06 Carbon, they need to do something because this can possibly just be only as fast as the C6 ZR1. the competition is way to capable, the engineers have got to do something, 3450 pounds is unacceptable.

The Japanese figured out how to make porky pig (GT-R) dance. I would hope team corvette can do similar with the 3450lbs vette. I have faith in Tadge and his boys.

It's a legitimate question considering so much info has been released about this car however the weight seems to be held close to the vest so far??

In my own perspective 3500 pounds would place the car in an entirely different category than the low 3,000 range platforms. The type of category where technology and brute force are needed to defy the laws of physics.

To the OP, how do you know the car weighs 3450lbs? I found an article that says the car weighs 3252lbs. Who the heck knows.

Any links to the manufacturer's data showing that the C7 Z06 will weigh 3450 pounds?
In all honesty, it will likely be even heavier than 3450, maybe even as high as 3550?
So I assume that the Z06 is not for you and you'll be going for the GT3, 458 Speciale or Huracan instead?

The GTR is a bit of a pig and it seems to compete pretty well with far less power. I think 3450 can be competitive.

Default Weight

I plan to run my tires at 10psi below spec, only run 4psi boost and 1/4 tank of gas. That should shave of about 100 pounds.

Exactly, and look at the 3800lbs z28. That thing can HANDLE. This Z06 is going to be amazing.

No proof, but Tadge has stated multiple times on a few videos that it will be heavier than the C6 ZR1 which is what 3350?

The hood and roof are already carbon fiber and the remainder of the body panels are a low density SMC which is lighter than the SMC used on the C6, so going 100% carbon fiber on the body panels isn't going to she that much weight.

Not quite. The 458 Speciale is 3075 lb but stll, no 2900 lb curb weight (not dry) cars there.
