Default Supercharger's oil/lube

Is the supercharger a self contained system or is the supercharger supplied from the engine oil?

I am sure it is like the LS9 2300cc unit which is self contained.

Thanks for the reply. If you wanted to change the lube in the supercharger is it doable on the car?
Bill

It is oil lube and apparently it can be changed if you deem it necessary. See this Eaton FAQ:

It appears that most of them only have oil in the front bearing and use grease for the rear needle bearings. There isn't much oil either, just over an ounce for some units and 5.1 oz. used for the ZR1.

Greasing the rear bearings is a once every 100k+ mile interval by a qualified repair center.
