thanks gm
I think we all owe gm a huge thanks for such an amazing car for the price. In spite of all the speculation of this and that what an awesome car for the dollar we are fortunate! Hats off

This is a nice gesture, but in my opinion it needs to be expanded upon. I'm not sure it actually belongs in the C7 Z06 section specifically; I'll explain if you bear with me.
GM should be thanked, repeatedly, for the Corvette as a platform. Period. The introduction models of each generation have and still do stand toe to toe with rivals costing 10s of thousands of dollars more. Remember the C4s getting kicked out of SCCA's "Escort showroom stock" class due to complaints (of dominance)? Remember the C5's introduction and it putting the ailing Japanese sports cars on notice?
Not to mention the exceptional performance and value of the up-rated versions of each generation. With those, Corvette wasn't just challenging competitors a few 10s of thousands of dollars more expensive, it was looking at competitors that out-priced it by 100s of thousands.
Have Corvettes had quality issues in the past? Yep. Is any car perfect? Nope. Has GM done its level best to make sure the car not only survives in an ever-changing market, but also thrives in it? Absolutely.
For that they need to be thanked. At every possible opportunity.
