Default Mid engine Zora ZR 1 question

With the rumored introduction of the 2017 mid engine Zora ZR 1, how many of you have changed or at least considered not getting the Z06?

There's no way that's going to happen and here's why:

1.) A mid engined car would not be built off of the same platform as the current C7.
2.) Because of this, IF (which I doubt) a mid engined Corvette was in the works, it would have to be a new generation.
3.) If there is a new generation of Corvette slated for 2017, that would mean that the C7 had a lifespan of 3 years.

Because of this, the only conclusion that you can arrive at is that a mid engined Corvette won't arrive until quite a ways down the line, and then a ZR1 version of that would be even farther down then line.

That's all just my opinion, but I will post a video of me eating my hat (I'll need to bu ya hat first ) if a mid-engined Zora comes out before 2020 (if it ever does).

They are claiming that for 2017 the ZR1 will be a limited production run of about 1500 @ about $150,000.

Starting in 2020, the C8 comes out and all of the models will be mid engine.

I am bummed that C8 rumors are already out as I was just getting ready to buy a 2017 Z06...........

The original question said "with the rumored introduction of the 2017 mid engine Zora ZR 1".

I gave you my reasons as to why I don't think a mid engined ZR1 will be out in 2017.

2020 is too far away and the Economy is too uncertain I'll settle for and am still getting the Z06
Zora may indeed be the plan for the future but there is almost certain to be bad economic times ahead so have your fun and your toys while you still can

Anyone who thinks there is any truth in that rumor need to have their head examined. Or quit smoking weed for a few weeks to clear up the though process.

You may be right but here is what we do know, by 2020 all non retro(morgan etc) sportscars will have to be turbocharged and hybrid in order to meet emission standards in Europe and our version of Europe California . GM will have no choice . If they have to go that far might they not go mid-engined too?
Or worse if the economy tanks we may be seeing the return of those "charmers" we got from Chevy in the eighties but this time with turbo 4 bangers..... God forbid

Doesn't impact my decision one way or the other. Until confirmed, the Zora is little more than vaporware.

I hope they build it, tho.

My sources inside GM tell me that the A10 transmission has been a nightmare and is constantly overheating. There is no manual transmission option.

It's so bad they are thinking of adding a third cooler but they don't know where to place it. Roof vents? They tell me to wait at least a year before I order.

In light of this, I'm going forward with my Z06.

I will say that I love the Caribbean Blue tint coat color option and I'm afraid it will be first year only.

Oh, but on the bright side, the 3ZR comp seats have been confirmed in napa leather! Finally!

Hasn't changed my mind at all. My Z07 will remain in my garage next to my ZR1, only until the next ZR/Zora/??? is available. My deposits were placed long ago for the next halo car.

If I waited to buy my next car when the mid-engine Corvette was first rumored, I'd still be driving my 1968 Camaro.

Default Production quantity

Has anyone heard any credible information about how many 2015 ZO6's that will be built for the 2015 model year
