Default Beat a dead horse Friday

Let me start by saying that the more I see and hear of the new Z06, the more I really like it. Awesome in every way but one.

That being said, I very crudely did some editing on Photobucket to try and tweak (clean up) the design just abit.

Basically:
1. Connect the upper and lower vents
2. Remove reflectors in lower valance
3. Insert one long reflector between upper and lower valances
4. Bring interior lower corners of tail lights to a point
5. Move and re angle divider between lights to match angle coming off license plate area
6. Add spoiler to include third brake light

The back of the car is the ONLY thing keeping me from having a serious problem wanting one!

This is all in fun since today is Friday.
Thoughts?
Is this better or worse?
Try to do one better!

Most of all Have a great weekend!

You shouldn't car what the rear of the car looks like, that is someone else's problem, when you leave them in the dust !! lol

Don't think it "cleaned it up".
I think it made it busier!

Granted the execution of the ideas isn't the best but the ideas might have some merit.

I see the concept that you were going for, and I don't like it all. A tail light basically going across the whole car seems a bit gaudy.

There was some one on the forum that blacked out the whole rear end of the car, and the connection of the lower and upper vents might work for you there. I wasn't a fan, but too each their own.

Get the car, and modify it as you wish. Allot others do. I really like the design as is.

The Stingrays that I've seen in person that were black have the best looking rears.

Only way to make it work is a clean sheet redesign.

Otherwise get ready to fight the Decepticons.

At least we aren't still trying to make the tail lights round. Also I wonder what the two tip aftermarket exhausts will look like. I haven't ventured into the c7 forum to see yet

It still looks like it was inspired by the movie Transformers... and I'm not a fan of the look of the rear... BUT, I will buy one in model year 2 and it will grow on me.

I appreciate the efforts but I think the rear looks excellent as it is.

The only thing I would change, and I expect to happen over the life of the model, is to see a more aggressive actual diffuser on the bottom. Unfortunately for me the only aftermarket one I've seen out there looks a little too aggressive for my tastes. Specifically I don't like how the fins come to a sharp angle instead of being rounded off.

Best,
Gene

I would add a more aggressive rear diffuser because for a track oriented car it doesn't seem to have one , and NOTHING says "SERIOUS" about a performance car like a prominent, unabashed rear diffuser

I am not suggesting something THIS aggressive but look at how badass that is

Something the aftermarket guys should consider ...they would sell like hotcakes (whatever that means, have you ever actually seen anybody line up for "hotcakes"?)

I do believe we all should leave the designing to the talented Corvette design and engineering team. They have a multitude of reasons why certain shapes, vent size and positions of aero elements are articulated. I think they have done a masterful job of integrating all critical functions while giving us a world class sports car that directly competes with Ferrari, Porsche, Lambo, and McLaren. All at a price/value percentage that is a 3 to 5 multiple cost factor.

I appreciate the OPs creativity and effort to make the rear more acceptable from his POV.
However, he missed the REAL problem with the rear of the car: round exhaust tips from GM's parts bin.
They should compliment the design of the taillights with a similar shape....big fail IMO.
Borla and another 3rd party (sorry, can't remember name) have noticed this and will be offering replacements that make the design of the rear cohesive and whole.

I don't like the black lower valance, but limited MS Paint skills The car as designed will look best in black imho. Not sure if this is any better/worse.

I, for one, love the Alice Cooper look as it is. But I've never been a vette fan until the C7...
