Default Was anyone able to activate OnStar on Z

Saw a Thread on here about tracking cars last year though OnStar.

I never knew about this last year.. when I was waiting for the Ray.
For Over 6 long months!!

I have Cadillac and Chevrolet products with OnStar.
So I called OnStar.. checking on my other vehicles then proceeded to ask them to check on my Z. I gave my Vin# and asked her to activate for me. Then she said push the blue button . I said my car is in Bowling Green??

I was told it can be done remotely. Can you???

Then is it true??.. you can track movement of vehicle (Bowling Green To Dealer)?? if OnStar is activated through homelink?

I know.... I sound crazy but if I could do this it would help me.
I am buying out of state. I would have 48-72 hour window to plan day off from work if week day delivery.

I have the same problem, I would like to know before hand so I can plan on financing and days off.

IIRC, in order to activate and track remotely, you have to buy the family package.

I think some of the confusion is in semantics.

I am almost positive is technically POSSIBLE to activate OnStar while the car is in transit, but getting someone to cooperate my be a bit of a challenge. One big reason is that until you pay for the car, you don't own it!

Some folks have posted on how they did what you want to do. Their posts, a cooperative dealer, and maybe paying for the vehicle before delivery may be the solution. (Admittedly, refusing delivery on a car you now own may prove to be a monumental challenge!)
