Default The Z06 is Incomparable

No 2-seater sports car in history has offered these features at any price:

650 HP with a choice of high-performance automatic or 7-speed manual;

Choice of convertible or targa roof.

Other supercar manufacturers offer suede, choice of seat styles, carbon fiber in and out, a wide range of paint and interior colors, adjustable exhaust loudness, adjustable ride settings, etc., but the Z06 offers all that as well as the above exclusive choices of 2 transmissions and 2 roof types.

What have I left out? If there's something else that's a Z06 exclusive, please add to the list.

Incomparable?

GTR? No... That's a joke, right?

But seriously, try running a Gen V Viper in a straight line or around the track. The comparison is QUITE real. Two VERY capable cars that are, in fact, quite comparable.

Unless I'm mistaken, the Viper doesn't offer either convertible or targa-style removable roof or an automatic.

Based on the video reviews im watching, the gen v viper doesnt have a prayer on the track against the z07. The zr1 was a virtual tie with the viper and the reviews seem to put this car on an entirely different level. I'm looking forward to some comparison tests (randy pobst) to confirm this.

Strainghtline, i agree. But a hellcat with tires can go fast in a straight line. As can a number of other cars.

I think they are making huge mistake not offering the viper with an auto option. I don't even think they have hill assist on the viper either yet.
Also they keep talking about convertible but where is it?
Only really positive thing they have done with viper is drop the price a large amount now.

Just think if the C7 Z06 was not offering an auto-trans like the previous generation. Roughly 80% of the orders are auto's & IMO this car would be in trouble if GM did not make a smart move to offer two options. I ordered the M7 which is my preference. If the Z came in a DCT I would consider it but probably still purchase the M7. Manual trans are the past with around 25% or less of the population that even knows how to drive one. In 5 years good luck finding a manufacture still making a new car with a standard trans.

Happy Turkey day..

I do not think you can order one in the US with a manual tranny.

The manual is supposed to be offered soon, though I don't think it is available yet. Even in the most powerful model it doesn't come anywhere near supercar territory. It doesn't offer a removable targa roof.

Not in the same leagu as z06, much lower permanent, smaller trunk not targa top. Much lower level of sufistication on drive train and much lower performance. Great car but it's a GT car, I will probably pick one up along side the new Z06 as a convertible for a runaround car with the wife.

i'm disappointed that it took the weight compromise to be offered as a convertible and targa.

Hill assist? The annoying thing that holds my car in the drive. When I
want to roll back? Maybe they should put curb alerts from the factory too for junior just learning driver's!

Less and less true car guys! But the ones coming in want Auto's for the number's. Almost sucked me in aqain. BUT I bought a new Camaro once with an AUTO then sold it a few months later and bought a stick that memory keeps me away even with the faster 0-60 of the auto.

The true sports car
and muscle car in my book is a stick. The point and shoot gets so boring and sucks shortly. So much better controlling the gears.

The A8 still is slow to react to upshift commands! So Boring drive is the
only acceptable mode? I buy the stick I love the mn7
the extra tall 7th is nice for hyway!
