Default 518 is home

Crappy pic from dinner attached. Z06, stage 1, 2lz.

Initial impressions after about 300 miles:
1. Ride is a tad less firm on touring than the z51 on sport (both mag ride). Not jarring, but it is more firm on equal settings.
2. Clutch and transmission are smoother
3. Engine has VERY little inertia and revs quickly. Heel toe is easier due to this
4. Engine has immense grunt. I am very pleased so far - I am a former C6 Z06 and GTR owner
5. Exhaust note is wicked! You will love the sound of this thing!
6. Handling is very composed, steering feels more accurate but it could just be the wider tires. They do tramline more than a z51.
7. Fit and finish is good, panel gaps, paint and finish look better than my 2014 Z51.

If you are on the fence about getting one, I doubt you will be dissapointed!!

Doesn't it have rev match for downshifts?

^^ This. Thanks for letting us share that great feeling. I drooled over a white Z07 for a half hour yesterday and was almost as happy for the new owner as envious... almost.
Great to see a 300 mile drive right out of the gate.

Mike, when you have a few minutes can you please take a couple of closeup pictures of your stage 1 splitter? Do you think the clearance is too small for street use? I asked on another thread and found out that it is made of plastic. How durable do you think it will be? Thanks

Thanks for the excellent first impression. You covered the ride comparo to the Z51/mag ride perfectly. Most guys in their enthusiastic initial quick reports, wander all over the country side and often times don't tell us much of anything helpful.

I know probably the last thing you were concerned about was tire pressure as you were enjoying your new ride, but I'm just curious if the dealer had the tires inflated to the proper pressure. Sometimes after I've taken delivery of a car and got it home and got around to checking the tire pressure, I've found it way high, which obviously would give a harder ride.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!!

A few follow on answers to some questions:

1. Tire pressures were set according to spec. I even checked them before arrival via onstar.
2. It does have rev match but I do it myself on the street and track. Not because Im better than the computer, but because I enjoy it.
3. Ill get some better pics of the interior and exterior when it stops raining. I personally like the driver centric coloring.
4. Ill get some pics of the splitter when the weather clears, but first order the stage 1 splitter is plastic and looks to be durable.. I didnt have any issue getting into my sloped driveway. I have more clearance than on mu C6 Z06 which would barely scrape.

For you guys waiting, its worth it! Soon you will have the perma grin too!

I'm jealous. Here in Austin too. I have an allocation from a local dealer but he hasn't been allowed to order yet. Did you go local or long distance for yours?? Looks like I'll have to wait till January.
