Default Carbon Fiber vs Carbon Flash

No question is stupid until it is asked.

Here's mine: The CFV - Carbon Fiber ground effects package probably looks like carbon fiber. Right?

What does the CFZ - Carbon Flash package look like? Just black in appearance? Similar to what I've seen on the stinger hood stripe?

I just ordered my Z06 with the carbon fiber package, but I see I can save $1k if I go with the carbon flash instead. The savings there would then go into something else, possibly the navigation system.

Both are totally carbon fiber. If the carbon fiber has cosmetic blemishes after manufacture, it is painted with the same carbon flash paint used on the vents, the rear diffuser, the stinger stripe, etc. and sold for a lower price.

Yes you more or less have it right, carbon flash (CF) is a black like color. The stripe that goes over the raised up portion of the hood is a CF stinger stripe.

IMO exposed carbon fiber looks a lot better. Carbon flash just looks like black painted plastic.

^^^^ Agreed....Carbon Flash is just Black Metallic. I think GM is trying to fool people by using the word "Carbon" in the name.

Well... Except it *is* carbon fiber under the paint To me, carbon flash would be a better option because it matches some of the pieces which are also carbon flash (like the front side plates for example).

Hendrick In Kansas City. That car sold while I was there. The new owner and his wife were an amazing couple who let me and the salesman look at their car, take pictures, and compare all the differences between them. There were stage 1, 2, and 3 areo packages, GT and comp seats, and 2 LZ and 3 LZ trim cars all together.

Carbon Flash will be black with gray/silver speckles in it;
Visible carbon fiber is exposed carbon fiber...it has a brownish hue to it by comparison.

Here is a pic of visible carbon fiber, CFV. The end cap is carbon flash

Default Have been on the C7 Z06 forum for a while, Need help please..

My Z06 came in on Monday.. I could not order the carbon flash ground effects at the time. (Bad decision!) I love the look the Ground effects and feel it makes the car very dangerous! Just my view!

Can you buy this from GM yet? Are there aftermarket out there? Is this a bolt on, if GM is selling them? OK, I need this option!

Thanks, Chasedrive

Hey bud I'm in Coral Springs not to far from you. I got stage 2 in car on flash. My though was all the other black pieces on the car are carbon flash and why not keep everything the same. You can come see it for yourself.

When I ordered mine the only bump was I need to make a decision on going with the Carbon Flash painted or hold order until ready. Honestly, I am glad I went with the painted flash. I think it looks much better with the Shark Gray and compliments the rest of the "black" on the car. Even better it saved me a $1000 bucks. That's my 2 cents for what its worth...

I appreciate the carbon fiber look. I have the exposed roof and dash on my Z51. Love the dash but am mute on the roof. On the cars with the carbon fiber splitter, the carbon flash end piece, and the plastic fender extension, there is a lot going on in that area. The smaller end that is carbon fiber looks better. For a less busy look I went with the painted carbon flash ground effects and skipped the roof this time, over rated in my book. Still love the dash.

Who will be the first to paint that fender extension carbon flash?
