Default Stock Lowering Bolts - 2015 Z06 Owners

I know this has been discussed in detail before, but frankly, I cannot locate that information. Would also like current details for my car being delivered next year.

For those of you who have had your Z06's delivered,

1. Did you discuss lowering your car with the dealer before you took possession? It is my understanding that GM ships these cars at the highest height possible to minimize clearance problems on Trucks, Trains, etc. Makes sense.
2. If so, to what height did you lower your car on the stock bolts and how did you communicate this to your dealer? Did you indicate "I want a maximum of 2" between the top of my wheel and the wheel well" as example? Or, "mid-point between the highest bolt location and the lowest" type of thing?
3. If the dealer would not lower the body during PDI, what is the procedure for doing it yourself?

As example, there is a new Z06/Z07 at my local dealer that has some 3" or more between the top of the tire and wheel well, and that's too much space to me!

That's it. Your feedback would be appreciated.

many dealers will not touch the bolts, some will.

good thing they are so easy to adjust yourself in the garage!

If you have the slightest mechanical ability, just do it yourself. Lower it all the way and enjoy.

Local dealer service manager told me there are no lowering bolts after I asked the salesman if they would lower a car at delivery.

Said thanks & walked.

Talk about a confidence builder huh?

Haha. Not to sidetrack too much but I had something worse happen. When I scheduled my 500 mile oil change, I was asked what model car I was bringing in. When I said Corvette, I heard her ask someone in the background: "Is a Corvette a Chevrolet?"

I would also add in reference to cars you see at dealerships. Whenever these cars are jacked up or lifted on a hoist, they will look like a four wheel drive until you put a couple of miles driving for the car to settle to final ride height.

Thanks Bob. Pretty self explanatory although I may go to a suspension shop and do corner balancing when I lower the car!

Just want to note that mine has settled a good bit since delivery. You can see the photos in the Jalopnik thread. I took those a few days ago. It was a good bit higher when I picked it up. I'll probably still lower it some more in the Spring.

Best,
Gene

I believe it was a modified stock bolt.

It was stock bolts but they cut or reduced something else, don't know what the part is called, to get it to drop even more.

The Z06 bolts look to be longer than my C7 Z51. I also feel many cars coming out of BG are slightly out of specs. This is my second Corvette this year and both were not in factory alignment specs. When I received my Z06 I was not pleased with the steering & ride height. I asked my service advisor to set the alignment to factory specs just like my C7 Z51. Now when the Z is in the most aggressive driver mode (I use the race setting as default) the Z feels tighter and more dialed in. If you decide to lower the car or keep the car at the original height, I recommend your consider the complementary alignment. According to the magazines, the press cars are set to racing specs. I decided to keep my alignment at non race specs, the race specs are in your owner’s manual. Sorry this was typed from my IPhone without my glasses... Happy holidays

Picture of my car lowered all the way on factory bolts.
