new 2016 ctsv will go 201mph with less power but same motor. So does the z06 hit 201 also?

The z06 already has trouble getting up to the speed limit on the highway, much less 201mph.

No, it has tremendous down force aerodynamics and gearing for a track........ Its designed to run and hold the road... and where were you going to do 201 MPH?

They are offering for the CTS-V a handling aerodynamic package that creates more down force and it will go slower also...

Both are great cars considering just a decade or so back...

Viper

They promote build and sell a track car not a straight line only car.

I agree with your comments about this being designed as a track car but still have concerns about it running out of breath when it is beat on. Track cars have to have endurance and I am not convinced this car does.

That's what GM's plan is to so they don't have to pay for your powertrain warranty.

Is it the GM is smart, or the consumer is....well...

I may be wrong but wouldn't $80-$105K be better spent on a much cheaper car to modify for the track or strip? You'd probably save $?0,000's of dollars in doing so.

I guess to each their own, good luck with your new C7Z...

201mph is meaningless. It means nothing. You will never, ever hit it (unless you rent a commercial airport or go to the salt flats - even a private mile+ long airport won't get you to that speed, I've tried with both cars and planes).

201mph means having a 14" ***** even though the most you'll use is 12" if you prefer large animals such as horses and elephants (but realistically 6-7" on normal ladies).

So when you bring up things like 201mph, it's to stroke your ego... to cover up a deep, DEEP insecurity, and for no other purpose. There are better ways to stroke your ego, like having a cohort of multiple beautiful young women at once or driving around with two of them in your front seat.

If all you want to do is go that fast in a straight line (not sure why, but I guess if you're out at the salt flats?), remove the wicker-bill.

the z cant go fast... It hits the excuses after the 150mph. This means that the z's top speed=excuses. That's why the z owners dont race anymore.. They are scared.

May I ask what you will do when the first owner gets his stock Z in the 10's.

It will happen, Z51's are running 11.3's.

That's what I thought. Another pretender. Funny how all of the complaints are from people don't own / can't afford / haven't driven the car, or those who make their living convincing people who do own one that they need to have it tuned. Coincidence?
