How did you get the space inbetween? I did mine and they said 7 spots total, including spaces.

These are not personal plates but unique. DE has a large assortment of organization plates available but the one's that are the most highly sought after are the small porcelain black & white plates. Then there are the stainless steel plates with pop riveted numbers, then there is the standard size issued gold and blue tag.
I have the porcelain plate for the Z and the SS plate for the '81. They compliment my cars nicely.

I don't know if anyone as mentioned this in thread, or if any individual states handled non-renewed personalized plates differently.
Before going to the DMV, I had a list of 5 acceptable personalized names written down. Even if the name was on the national database (I forget what its called exactly), but I didn't eliminate a name from my list just because it was listed as taken in ky.
When I went to the dmv, and was ready to hand my list to the clerk, I asked her if she could check one name, Top Gun, to see what it showed in her system.
Her response shocked me. She said "yes" it was showing on her screen as a "taken" name. But then she said, "wait a minute. the individual with the plate name has not renewed it in 2 years and, under kentucky law, she could give it to me. She said the online databases where i had been searching for names often gets updated for new personalized names, but was much slower to update plate names not renewed.
So, it may be worth the effort to ask a question or two. I did, and hit a home run for me (in my mind).
