Who's getting their A8 first?
I'm at status 3300 with a production date the week of 1/26/15. Does anyone have a production date before that? Apparantly GM takes off for 3 weeks for Christmas. I dying to hear fellow A8 purchaser's reviews.
Also, does anyone e know what the time is between production and delivery? I'm in California.
Thanks

Right now, no one besides the folks at the factory know whether the A8 cars will undergo an extended QC hold, like the first production Z06s did. That was 2 weeks. If there is no QC hold, cars are normally released for shipping within a day or two of build date. Then Jackie Cooper, the shipping company, has 10 days to get the cars off the plant lot. They normally try to get a full truckload of 11 cars, all going to the same general area, before they send it on its way. Once the truck leaves, it could deliver the cars as early as 1-2 days for areas near Bowling Green, to 1-2 weeks for all other areas have truck delivery, to 3-5 weeks for areas that have rail shipment, which would be California.
Just as an aside, Museum Delivery cars generally have a 14 day minimum hold after build date. Deliveries generally take place 2-4 weeks after production, depending on the schedules of both customer and the Museum. They can only do 8 cars per day.
BTW - I have the same TPW and expect to do Museum Delivery in mid February.

Production status
According to my dealer who called last week I am at 3300 with a production date the week of Jan. 19. It is an A8 2LZ, red/red with DTH twin black racing stripes, Q6U black AL wheels, C2Z roof panel and a few minor goodies.

I have a firm allocation for an automatic but have not placed my order yet. Don't want to take delivery in Feb. Too many blizzards and ice storms. Going to place the order very late in December hoping that it doesn't come in before March.

Remember that the plant is making a max of 350 Zs per week, and the A8 is constrained at 75%, so a max of 262 or so A8 Z06s per week. Kinda gives you an idea how few new vette owners are actually online in a forum.
