Default First time Vette buyer (really, first time American-made buyer) - and a Z06 question

Hello all - just ordered my first American car in 20 years of driving. Current cars in the stable are a 2014 Ferrari 458 Spider and 2014 Porsche 911 TurboS - previous cars are a 2010 Lambo LP-560 and 2012 McLaren MP4-12C. And have something Swedish on order - hoping it's CA legal by the time it's built in mid-2016.

Ordered a DSOM Z06 with all the trimmings, in manual. Drove a base C7 and decided I needed one for fun. Expected delivery is mid-March.

I really only have one beef with the car - the exhaust. The quad trumpets just look odd to me. Anyone know of any outfit changing this out with a more Aventador style single exit?

My current babies:

Not really sure what that means? I have two hands, two feet, and a functional brain/eyes, so yes, I can drive them?

Congrats on the order of the Z and beautiful rides you got there! Enjoy them in good health.

Anyways, I found a stingray exhaust thread that had 'Speedway Tips' which might be something you would be interested in. I'm sure some Z06 exhausts will have those tips sooner or later.

BTW, what 2016/2017 Swedish ride do you got on order if you don't mind me asking?

I think he's referring to the fact that neither one appears to have license plates.

Billy Boat or perhaps Calloway might have an exhaust more to your taste. I think Borla may also have something along the lines you're looking.

Should be able to find links in the vendor listing on the side of the forum window.

Welcome by the way.

Noticed and thought that was odd as well.

I just don't like plates - never mount them. Never have a problem without them. And it means I never have to worry about my plates showing up in photos online when I'm out and about.

Welcome, in regards to the exhaust I'd touch base with Katech, they make the following exhaust system for the C7 and I'm sure they will also be rolling it out for the C7Z:

http://store.katechengines.com/katec...stem-p461.aspx

If you are not familiar with them they are a high end racing shop that has done a lot of the engine work for GM racing etc. So they only put out really high quality, true performance products. I went to them for a track attack build on my C6Z06 and the level of detail and quality of all of their components from the carbon to metal work is top notch, easily along the lines of what you would expect dealing with vendors of F & L car parts. As a matter of fact the company they use for their carbon work is the same one that does all of the work for Pratt & Miller Racing (the C5R, C6R & now C7R) so top notch, motorsports level quality

Same here. Cops really don't care unless you do something stupid; then it really doesn't matter what sort of plates that you have on your car. The cops in the country may care or use it as PC to make a traffic stop, but city cops have better things to do with their time. I would rather pay the $15 no plate fix-it-ticket than a $400 Red Light camera ticket anyday.

This is how I roll. (bad picture I know, cell phone pic)

Cancel your order while you can and buy a Viper. It is faster, better built, looks better, and the ecu wont pull ~600hp when the temperature reaches 65 degrees outside.

Better built?

The Vipers I've driven were horribly designed, and built even worse. I love the concept of the Viper, but the execution is awful. Poor ergos, poor vis, and awful dealers in my area - one is STILL asking for a $20K markup on a triplet of 2013 Vipers on his lot.

Reminds me of a guy here that drove around with out of state plates. All the cops seemed to think it was to much of a hassle to mess with another states problem.

They are good people to work with, just give Jason there a call and he'll take care of you. Noticed the SF dealer on the F car plates, are you in the Bay Area?
