Default Katech LT1 427 - The highest horsepower NA Gen 5 LT1 in the world. 703hp/625lb-ft

(I put this in the Z06 section also in case Z06 road racers may be interested in a naturally aspirated engine)

I'm pretty sure I can make that claim. If there is a higher one somebody else has done on the engine dyno please let me know.

Full specs to be released later, but here are some:
703hp/625lb-ft on 93 octane
4.070x4.100"
Callies forged crank/rods
Katech forged pistons by Mahle
Katech LT1 piston squirters
12.5:1CR for use with premium pump gas
DI
Katech AFM delete valley cover
Katech CNC ported heads
Very streetable camshaft. Same or better drivability than K501.

Two all new, not yet announced products:
Katech throttle body
Katech 4 stage dry sump system
-Manufactured exclusively for Katech by ARE.
-Features OEM internal pressure and scavenge pump plus
-2 stage external roots pump
-New pan casting with better windage control
-Screened pickup fittings
-In car mounting will vary from what is seen in the photo

That is awesome Jason. Could we use this with the factory z51 oil tank or is it the complete ARE system? Can you comment on possible weaknesses of the factory dry sump.

It will be a complete system with pan, oil filter mount, tank, pump and lines. The LT1 system is much like the LS7 system. Under road racing conditions we found there were improvements to be made in the oil pickup in the sump, the tank, and adding additional scavenging capacity to pull a vacuum on the pan.

There really is something magic about a "427".

There is still some pricing to work out, but it will be very reasonable for a forged 700hp 427 build.

Great #s!! I assume you are running the stock intake manifold? Seems to be a very efficient piece. Also I assume you had to change to standard lifters as well?

Some changes were made to the intake manifold which I will get into later.

Anytime we do our AFM delete valley cover we change the lifters to a non-AFM style GM High Speed Lifter.

Tremendous numbers!

What air induction was on the end of the throttle body on the engine dyno?

Humm, I thought so. Wait until you get our new airbox/filter for the Z06.

Next week you might hit 710!

Imagine the C7 Z06 with a 427 moniker. Slam on a larger SC from the factory and 850 HP from the factory would be sweet!

Default Qs for Jason

Will it fit in the C7Z without cutting metal / rearranging suspension, steering or brakes?

What's the estimated net change in weight of a swap from the LT4? (And roughly the same or lower c.g. as with the LT4, I assume?)

Does the swap screw up any of the stock driver interface programming (HUD, driving modes, PTM nannies, warning lights, etc) or other sensors / warnings?

(Love high hp NA small blocks - that don't break.)

How about: no moniker, keep the hood shut, put 'em to sleep, and smoke 'em!

I don't mean putting it on the car. Cheezy. I mean knowing what you have under the hood.

I would figure out a way to get the 2300 blower onboard.

Visualize this monster at Nurburgring. More hp, less weight up front, and cool as a cucumber.

And it will probably get better gas mileage than the 650 HP LT4.
