Great video. Thanks for posting. He said the engine was hand built. Is that all Zo6 or just the ones with the Zo7 package?

Just Z07.

I like how he addressed the heat issue. GM looking out for warranty drives the mapping.

Just the Z07's... built by one person at BGAP and has their name on the plaque. All other LT4's are built at Tonawanda by more than one employee but still under the same protocol and SOPs.

So is it better that one person built motor or several? If that one guy had a bad day then oops but guess same goes for group build lol! Too much to analyze 😁

Love how he ended the video lol!! The Z does sound sooo awesome! Can't wait to experience it first hand and from inside the car.The black does look so sweet BUT I've had a black Vette and boy it was brutal to keep clean. One drive after wash and looked dirty already. Also had the Pewter Metallic and that car always looked clean and loved that color. In fact, my original order was shark grey cuz it reminded me of the Pewter but switched to the AW just because I loved the contrast more with the black wheels and black ground effects etc on the car but still think the SG is such an amazing color this year!

can anyone explain why chevy is building the lt4 at two different locations? im on the fence about z07 package. I prefer the level one aero but want the cc brakes. if the engine built for z07 may be better it would make my decision for me. the black with red interior is so nice.

I'd assume capacity. Just a quick solution to split the production load.

Get the Z07; the brakes alone are worth it.

And great review! Gene, if any of your journal/review writing guys wanna drive a Z07, they're welcome to take mine out

Haha I would have ordered black and been able to get my alcantara! The red interior was how my wife wanted it. I pushed her on black exterior. She pushed on red interior. Frankly it's grown on me.

If they want to drove a Z07 they can drive mine. If they want to race Z07s I'll give you a call. Maybe this Spring in fact.

For those that don't know I started Fast Lane Daily, amongst others, back in the day. If you google you'll find a few episodes of my terrible hosting skills.

Someone (*ahem* me) is desperately in need of test driving a new Z06, ideally at a track. Come on Gene... hook a brotha up?

You're more than welcome to test drive it. However with multiple storms forcasted and snow tires on I don't think it will be seeing any track duty for some time. :/

I am getting close to either ordering a 2016 C7Z or 2015 GenV viper.

this video has lots of excuses all be it with a positive spin. And the 185mph top speed posted in the start of the video. -- I recall a road test on a C4 Lt4 -330hp having that top speed in a 1996 Car and driver. - 20 years and 220hp more - whats up here. Are the ground effects so strong on these z07's you could in theory drive them upside down and they would stick to the track.

friends and relatives all like the c7Z better. Of course they don't know and could care less about all the technical detail -- I want to like it better to.

And I would tend to want the engine that was not hand built by one person. - give me one done on a mass assembly line.
