Z06 High Speed Accident Fatality
From KATV in Little Rock, Arkansas http://www.katv.com/story/27992747/f...fferson-county
An accident in Jefferson County has left one person dead.
Officials say the accident happened today on Highway 365, just 3 miles north of White Hall.
Authorities say the car was traveling at a high rate of speed, when the driver lost control and hit some trees. The driver was then ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the car was injured.
The identity of the injured passenger and the deceased driver have not been released.

Saw this in the C7 General, terrible news. I can't believe anyone survived.

Another way of looking at it is the car absorbed a lot of energy like it was designed to do. The passenger living through the accident is a testament to the car's ability to absorb the energy and pass along the minimum to the occupants.
Having said that, nothing can protect you when you don't wear your seat belt and get ejected from the car...my senior design project research revealed 9 out of 10 people ejected from a car in an accident die. Your odds are much better in the car, the driver might still be alive if he had only worn his seat belt.
Sad news though, prayers to the families.

Sad and unfortunately there will be more of these types of stories to come.
Respect the fact that for most of us this cars capabilities far exceed ours
Prayers for the passenger and the deceased drivers family.

This is horrible and the timing of this is bad. Be careful out there people, these cars aren't to be taken lightly. The more experienced a driver you are the more you know that you should keep it in check on the street, especially the very high speeds. A bit of rain, some leaves on the road at the wrong place and you are going sideways into the trees.

eyewitness to the accident say's he was racing a mustang. A common stretch of road for such activity. Sad lesson for us all.
passenger was in surgery yesterday evening with 2 broke legs and arms but they say he will be ok.

I am going to show this to my son (he's almost 10).
Usually when I've got the z out he's with me. Almost every time some high school looking kid tries to race us, and I ignore and tell my boy that's what tracks are for, that too many things can go wrong on the highway.
Hate to see this and hope the passenger makes a full recovery.

Accident happened at 12:20 PM under dry road conditions, based on the temps mentioned above traction is an issue. This could have been a father and step son because they lived at the same address. Truly sad and I sure hate hearing about this. Prayers for the family and all involved.

In all my time of driving i dont let anyone ride in my car without a seatbelt no matter if they re a tough guy or not i will tell them gtfo if they dont or give them a reminder by slamming on the brakes at 10mph to jerk their body an say see now imagine that same thing going 70.
