What happened to the AFM exhaust valves on the Production Z06's?
This is a pre-production view of the 2015 Z06's AFM exhaust valves just forward of the mufflers....I had my car on the hoist again today and went over every inch of the tailpipes (with a borescope for areas hidden from direct view) from the muffler to the exhaust pipe and there is nothing that resembles these valves! Does this mean they are somehow incorporated them in the muffler valve just before the chrome tips?

Our Z06 does not have AFM exhaust valves either. Corsa has reported some that they have seen do have it. I can't figure out what option dictates whether they have them or not.

I have already changed the exhaust on my Z.
There are no valves forward of the mufflers.
I installed a Corsa Extreme with X-pipe and
it sounds awsum! (I did have to modify the
Corsa adapters because the Z06 mufflers
have slightly larger input pipes than a standard
C7)

I remember early on one of the Z51 owners reported his AFM valves failed due to heat after a track day. With the extra exhaust heat from a supercharged engine I wonder if the valves are designed out of the Z06 which would make the exhaust note "interesting" when AFM is active.

With this information now, I wonder if the Z06 NPP valves are used in AFM mode and essentially replicate the function...
With the Stingray, NPP is optional. With the Z06 it's on every car, so maybe no need for 2 sets of valves?
JMB, you're tuned into the way it sounds and you have done the fuse #42 pull. With the fuse in, try some Eco mode driving (watch the center display when in V4 mode) to see what it sounds like. Then pull Fuse 42 and see what it sounds like in V4. There should be no doubt about if the NPP valves are replicating the function at this point as V4 with the exhaust open sounds like a$$.
Maybe also check to see if fuse 32 even exists in these cars w/o AFM valves.

That's what I suspected, so it's definitely not integrated with the MPP valves, cause mine is unplugged and no codes.
It has to be there somewhere though, otherwise the M7s wouldn't get through without GGT ... as I understand it that's the only reason 'eco' mode exists in a performance car like this, and 'eco' mode is the only time AFM is active. So could these valves really be somewhere between the primary cats (with sensors) and the secondary cats the X pipe deletes?
Or am I thinking about this the wrong way?

[QUOTE=JMB;1588978383]The stock Z06 tailpipes are 2.75" I believe and I thought the Corsa X was 3"? How does this sound now with the X?
The Corsa Xpipe fits perfect. No mods, just bolt in. Sounds awsum!
The mufflers on the other hand, are slightly different dia. so I had to
do a little welding on the Corsa adapters. But ultimately ended up with
a perfect fit

From my experience your Magnaflow should bolt right on, but you will not use the valves located in front of the mufflers (AFM valves)
