Hot air coming out vents with A/C off....normal?
Ok love the new z06 here in south Florida, and recently with our cold weather I have turned off the a/c and want to enjoy using just the fan to blow some ambient air into the cabin. Well all I get is hot ...and I mean hot air. Never had this issue with my C6Z. Can someone try this out and let the forum know if this is happening in your cars. Basically I turnoff the a/c and the use the fan **** to adjust the fan speed. Ps. In my car it does not matter if the temperature control is set to cool temp or hot temp It always blow hot. Thanks in advance

Might be related, but I've noticed on "Auto" my Z06 literally ALWAYS has the AC running, regardless of outside temperature.
I've seen it run the AC at 34 degrees.
Anyone else notice this? Seems very odd.

Edit: also be sure to set the temperature low to avoid invoking the heater.

Don't have a C7 but would assume it draws the air from the cowl located between the hood and windshield. Sounds like gm is doing a good job of venting engine heat but it may be at a cost (vent intake heat)
I recall seeing a pic gm published many months ago and it showed color lines of the C7Z airflow but can't find it now.
Just guessing

I have the same issue. It's either air on or off with both windows open. I minimize some of the hot air by turning the fan speed off as well.
Two trips to Spring Mtn and Ron Fellows, has shown me that performance is not hindered much by running the AC while on the track. They pretty much run the AC full blast in the desert heat.
I guess it's not like the old days where you can just draw outside air in.

Anyone know what the intake next to the door handles are used for?? I just saw a cut away pic and it looks like it feeds a cooler/w fan.

I have noticed the same heat as well. Since it hasn't been above 50 deg F here since December, I have welcomed it, but let's see if a solution can be found by August when we might get above freezing again.

Do I dare toget the dealer involved?
Thanks guys for your confirmation that this is basically our reality! Now my question would be whether or not go to dealer and let them check it out. My concern would be them tearing the dash apart to find out basically it was designed that way. Any thoughts.

Ok, same here.
Its 60* outside and I get warm air from the vents with them set at LO on both driver and passenger sides.
The car is idling in my driveway for about 10-15 minutes when I took the photos; was driven about an hour earlier.
Here are the air settings and the temperature from the mid vent:
106*
This is the way it is? Are you kidding? @#$%^&

Must be a recirc. problem with the vent system not getting outside air OR the Heater is FULL ON.
*** Is there a fuse I can pull to disable the heater?******
I don't have a schematic of the electrical...ANYONE?

If I utilize just the lower vents then I get cool air. Upper vents put out warmer air for some reason.
