Back at the track! Not as good air! Went faster!

Yes stock ECU,
car is 100% stock except the addition of 345 Drag Radials.
SO WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR LAUNCH CONTROL?
Put in track mode
double hit the traction control?

Thinking maybe a 305/35r18 on c5z rear might help with short shifting as it'd be almost identical to stock height though I don't think much average power is being left on the table with the curve of the lt4, but it appeared you're possibly shifting into 5th through the traps being the mph is actually an average of the last 66' though 4th tops out at 133mph with the 345s and 6600rpm redline. Either way better DA, less rolling resistance or the intake would definitely cause it to have to shift. Regardless, look forward to you going even faster next time out!

Very, very impressive.
Ok, based on the DA of this pass and the fact that the drag radials being used are slightly taller than stock (essentially making that 2.41 rear axle ratio more like a 2.3x ratio), I will go on record and say that a bone stock (including tires) C7 Z06 automatic will eventually take the 'ET title' from the bone stock C6 ZR1 (ie: Kyle's still very impressive 10.66).
1000+ miles on the clock, MIR, Atco, Cecil, E-town (even Houston (Royal Purple) Raceway Park or Sacramento) on a 'good prep' and high barometric pressure day between November and April and it should definitely be attainable.
Now, is it truly apples to apples with one being a manual and the other being an automatic?
I can't answer that one.
But it is nice to know that one can buy a bone stock Corvette and after getting some break in miles and quality seat time in it, potentially run a 10.6 or 10.5 second 1/4 mile time at over 131+mph.

Looks like the A8 is a beast. This is an exciting time to be a Corvette guy.
I still prefer to work the gears manually, but you can't deny results.
I'm curious, where is the PDR camera located? Somewhere on the dash or behind the rear view?

posted more details from pages 9-44, 9-46 and 9-47 below.
btw: Awesome run Jason, I can't wait to take mine out to the track
Performance Traction Management (Z51 and Z06 with Magnetic Ride Control)
To select this optional handling mode, the vehicle mode must be Track. Then quickly press the TCS/ StabiliTrak button on the center console two times. PERF TRAC 1 -WET ACTIVE HANDLING ON displays in the DIC.
(not sure if it matters on which PERF TRAC mode it is in for driving in a straight line on a drag strip vs corning on a track; I wish I had my Z to test it out, still about 2 or 3 weeks away for me)
check out pages 9-44 through 9-46
PERF TRAC 1 – WET ACTIVE HANDLING ON
PERF TRAC 2 – DRY ACTIVE HANDLING ON
PERF TRAC 3 – SPORT ACTIVE HANDLING ON
PERF TRAC 4 – SPORT ACTIVE HANDLING OFF
PERF TRAC 5 – RACE ACTIVE HANDLING OFF
Launch Control (Track
Mode Only)
A Launch Control feature is available, within Performance Traction Management (Z51 and Z06 with Magnetic Ride Control), on all vehicles to allow the driver to achieve high levels of vehicle acceleration in a straight line. Launch Control is a form of traction control that manages tire spin while launching the vehicle. This feature is intended for use during closed course race events where consistent zero to 60 and quarter mile times are desirable.
Launch Control is only available when the following criteria are met:
. Any of the Performance Traction Management modes are selected (Z51 and Z06 with Magnetic Ride Control). The TCS light comes on the instrument panel and the appropriate DIC message displays.
. The vehicle is not moving.
. The steering wheel is pointing
straight.
Automatic Transmissions
. The brake pedal must be firmly pressed to the floor, equivalent to a panic brake event.
. The accelerator pedal is rapidly applied to wide open throttle. (If the vehicle rolls due to wide open throttle, release the throttle, press the brake pedal more firmly, and re-apply the accelerator to wide open throttle.)
The Launch Control feature will initially limit engine speed as the driver rapidly applies the accelerator pedal to wide open throttle. Allow the engine rpm to stabilize. A smooth, quick release of the brake pedal, while maintaining the fully pressed accelerator pedal, will manage wheel slip.
After the vehicle is launched, the system continues in Performance Traction Management (Z51 and Z06 with Magnetic Ride Control).

It has NOT happened yet and Kyle's 10.66 still stands so this is all total speculation and moot at this point.
But having been heavily ensconced in this 'stock Corvette drag racing' thing for over 17+ years now, I've kind of developed a knack for calculating out future ET potential based on the hard track data presented at any given point in time.
And my crystal ball tells me that a bone stock automatic C7 Z06 can go a 10.65 at a well prepped near sea level track in stellar (cold) air.
Of course both Fartpipe's (he actually ran into the 10.2s on one pass in his ZR1, not just a 10.32 ) and Kyle's low 10s are still notably quicker and might (or might not) even remain as top dogs in the 'stock with drag radials only' category.

Also this is ORLANDO SPEEDWORLD, not the super-track all the record passes are run on. Prep was marginal at best. NO sun out. -300DA
IF I had Z07 tires, I would try to run on them, but I DON'T! I have NON-Z07 car. People telling me to run stock tires... this car at this track will NOT run faster on the tires that came on my car.
Snorman will probably give it a try so you can see how he does.
Thanks,
Jason

Well, I wasn't telling you to run any tire. I just asked if you've happened to run the stock tires. Just curious how the hook compares. Fully get the point it likely won't be as quick as DRs.

And also do so without pushing the front tires through the beams?
Damn, that stock converter must be pretty loose (and those brakes REALLY strong too ).

If jason427 didn't have drag radials, I doubt he would hook in today's condition. The porsche was having problem hooking, so did GTR and so did a c7 stock stingray 7 speed manual that ran 20 times.

Impressive Jason! Looking forward to your next day out. Way to represent the Z!
